It was once the sanctioning body for the kings of winter. Now it is just a laughing stock in the history books; of colossal failure after colossal failure. Run into the ground by just another dipped-in-shit lawyer.

Not really missing it as much as I thought I would.
I will miss the playoffs though.
Living in a warmer climate helps. Not being stuck inside as much.
Kinda feel sorry for people in like, Winnipeg, et al.

I grew up in NNJ & was a big NYR fan (there was no Devils as they were in Colo) But I lost touch years ago, but started watching again last year.

The playoffs were great last year.

Bettman has really F'ed up the league

Like our Gov't - they need to find common ground

Here in Lehigh Valley - The Flyers club the Phantoms are moving into a new arena in 2014, but I just read they will start charging the future season tix owners in Jan. Shit they won't be playing for 18 months

Great, they will never play again if that is the criteria to meet! That's like having one boob in front and one boob in back. Just not the package you were hoping for.

I talked with a friend in Nova Scotia today.
He made a good point about the Q and the USHL getting stronger due to nobody getting called up.
He still misses his Leafs though.

Eight NCAA Div 1 colleges within a couple hours if I feel like a live game, lots televised if I don't.

I do wish we had an AHL team here, instead of in Houston. :bluduh

Nobody cares until the winter classic on Jan 1, then after the Super bowl when things start to matter in the playoff race.

This year, they should just start the playoffs two rounds sooner with everybody in, and not even bother with a regular season. That'd be nuts. And awesome.

I'm going through bad withdrawals, and watching this isn't helping:

Hockey has something that you can't get from watching other sports. A visceral feeling. Like riding my Tiger 1050 after my 2011 GSA.
    Hockey is the Tiger 1050.

We have the WHL and AHL near by as well as a few other juinor teams but the NHL is the best game on ice. I was a season ticket holder when the Canucks were at the Coliseum and tickets were $20 a game. I can only afford a few games at Rogers arena at $120 a game but I miss my Bruins.

The Abbotsford Heat (Calgary team) is packing fans in this season.

They have already pushed too hard. The small markets are going to be in deep trouble before the first drop. It will be interesting to see how the owners face that dilemma.
