Just wondering who in the Area has Dual Sports? I have my first bike and new to all this but I thought I would check in and see who is around me. I just purchased a DRZ 400S. I go for my License at Harford Community on May 1st which is as soon as they could get me in!

I am excited and hope to meet some new people to ride with.

If your near Baltimore Please check in and lets see who all is in the area.

    Baltimore northeast or southeast?

BTW my name is Bryant :clap

My bad we are South and I should know my wife keeps calling me a Southerner. It is good to see some people in the Baltimore area I can ride with. Untill I get the M mark on my License I am stuck riding off the Pavement. I am looking to get my new Bike inspected and tagged. I think I will take it to G&M off Belair road to be inspected unless someone can direct me to a better place? I hope it will pass I know the tires are marked DOT and all the lights and horn works. Brakes are good? What eles?:rofl

You are the first person from the south that I have ever heard say that MD is a southern state. Every time I go into VA and south I am advised that MD is not in the south and take my Yankee ass back north. :D

I want to assure you that did not say that "MD is a southern state." I lived in MD for most of my life and maintain that MD is decidedly not "southern" (nor am I, for that matter). However, the decision was made by the powers-that-be to split the forum such that MD, DC and VA are in the 'southeast' forum.

My wife from new england thinks Maryland is South and accuse me of having a southern accent but I just dont see it.

I can get a bike taged without having a motorcycle license yet? I think I will go get my learners next week then if I can find someone to go for a ride with I am good correct?

What's funny is PA is much more southern than MD, at least culturally.

I live in Baltimore City, have a Speed Triple and Honda Shadow. No DS yet but it's the next bike for the stable, maybe this summer if a nice deal shows up or I find someone with an XR650L willing to trade for a shadow.

Damifudo, you don't need a license to get your bike tagged.

Though its probably a good idea to have a licensed rider with you. The cops aren't gonna give you a hard time about it, (unless they really don't like you). Most probably don't even know that is an actual law.
A motorcycle learner's permit will satisfy them.

Think of a learner's permit as a permit to kill yourself!!!!

I have been thinking about a ride here in Maryland around Baltimore County, Harford County and even Cecil county. Please post some places you have ridden before and enjoyed it. I know the C&D canal would be a good place to ride. Cecil county is loaded with Gravel Pits. Baltimore County has some amazing farm land up north.

Maybe we can combine our resorces and link up a ride. Please respond with some ideas.

I would be willing to come down to the C and D canal for a good DS ride-I have a modified DRZ SM with dirt wheels and tires. It would be great to explore the area and then stop for crabcakes and a beer at the Bayard House or ??? It's about an hour and a half for me to get to Cheasapeake CIty from where I live.

    Except this weekend is bad...
Funeral, daughter's dance competition and moving a friend. Any other weekend is a good bet. I've ridden with dmar a couple times and he has some good routes.

If y'all (oops, can't say that) get a ride together, I'd be into that.

Nu2 -- funny, your bike sounds like my bike. I have some dirt wheels coming.
