Peddlers trail system is a National Forrest run ATV and Off road Motorcycle trail system of 19 miles about 45min outside of Lynchburg.

How do they compare to fire road 162 off of the Coal road?

Whoops, when you said Pedlars, I was thinking Taskers.

Taskers is a rocky bitch, esp. the side trails. I don't know about Pedlars.

I do know that Vabuckaroo took his 950 Adv. up Big Levels jeep trail, but I don't think it was easy, was it John?

It is my understanding that 162 is Big Levels but I've only lived here two months so don't hold me to it.

Funny, I was too, the photo of the oilhead is on Taskers. Super rocky, long babyhead sections, and IIRC a tall rock "ledge" that's at a very steep angle, nowhere to go but gas it up. No trouble for someone too inexperienced to know that they're in over their head, though. :lol3

Can't imagine Pedlar would be any fun on anything of much size. 250 size stuff to me.

I followed TFitz on his 1150 ADV through Big Levels, a couple of low speed step-offs in sand but the bike made it ok (and Tom is a very capable rider). Nice to have a buddy to help pick the beast up though - at least GS's usually only go over to about 45 degrees :D
Full disclosure - I never rode my 1150 ADV through there. SST did before I bought it from him, blew a seal out of the front Ohlins. Yeah, it's rough in spots.
Have a good ride, weather should be nice and cool.

    Hey,

So I did not get the opportunity to camp out last weekend... So my wife and I are looking at going off the beaten path tomorrow to go camping just friday night into saturday. Anyone know of a decent trail/road within 1.5 hrs of cville we could set up camp and have a fire? Thanks

Off of Quaker Run Road my daughter has done some camping. Just careful where you pitch your tent. I think your good after the first water crossing/bridge. I don't think you can camp in the RWMA. Good time of the year for camping up there. Gnats shouldn't be too bad.

    Dang it:

RICHMOND – Effective July 1, a maximum speed limit of 35 mph will apply to all unpaved roads statewide, as a result of legislation passed by the General Assembly this year.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) proposed the revised speed limit for unpaved roads to keep the speed limit consistent. Prior to the revision, the maximum speed limit on these roads was 55 mph, though this varied by counties.

Anyone free for a ride tomorrow morning? I'm thinking leave after breakfast and back by about lunch time.

I'm beta testing some pivot bearing replacement bushings so I need to put some moderatly abusive gravel miles on a R1100gs.

PM me if you want to ride so it gets pushed to my phone, I might miss a reply here.
