Sounds good. I'll check the weather and post up a call to arms in a new thread.

I have it on good authority that you can get to split rock via the road (as long as you don't mind a little snow), been that way since last Thursday.

I might be able to scoot out from work a bit early some day next week. Would this be F659GS Dakar friendly? My Husaberg isn't plated yet.

Depends on your skill level I guess. The trail up there is basically just a quad trail, with some stream washouts and log crossings. For a lot of "big bike" riders I'd guess no, but it certainly can be done by a good rider.

There are only one or two good size logs (6-12" diameter) with the remaining being saplings. There would be a few tough spots on a big bike with slippy slidey muddy and rutty areas. Was that enough "y" words?

After riding it the other night, the thought of taking the V-Strom up there was on my mind. I did a loop on the DR350, and had to drop the bike under a gate at the end. This and the side trail exploration would be absolute no-go on a big bike. Perhaps with a couple spotters. Having a small DS just makes things more enjoyable!

Anyone know if you can hook up with Day Lake and perhaps FS17 from Split Rock?

I tried that for awhile, GrandpaRacer is correct, its impossible, due to elevation changes, private property, etc.. it's too bad.. You can go out either side though, South Skagit or Cavanaugh road and do a few miles of slab and get back into the woods..

Id love to join you guys but Im all slab for awhile, I currently have no income and am being pursuaded by my accountant to actually start looking for a job.. ..

We could hook up for a paved ride sometime, too. In fact, might head out on a ride today. We should chat about this job situation. I have an idea that requires a bit of web development.
