The TR 650 Terra will be available from mid-December, followed by the more road based TR 650 Strada in January 2013.
An extensive range of genuine Husqvarna accessories and special parts will be available from Husqvarna dealers when the TR 650 Terra and TR 650 Strada hit the showroom floors. Customers can tailor bikes to their needs with hard panniers, top cases, soft rear bag, off-road foot pegs, aluminium bash plate, hand guards and a windshield to name only a few of the options available.
TR 650 Terra and TR 650 Strada will be on display at the upcoming Australian Motorcycle Expo in Melbourne 23 – 25 of November. This will be the first time the new models will be at any show in the southern hemisphere.

Are the only differences between these bikes the wheels? I keep reading what a good bike the Terra is on the road, but shouldn't we buy the Strada if that is the priority.
Maybe Husky might see the merit in providing a little more suspension travel for the Terra in Mk 2? (I hope this model lasts longer then the X-Challenge.)

looking forward to your thoughts DRF , so far this thing is ticking all the boxes for me.

I was told 17 Dec at PFG then a couple of days later to get them to dealers.

Wheels and suspension I believe and a little bit of trim also the Strada has ABS but the Terra does not (in Australia).

I don't believe it's the initial cost so much but the perception that KTMs are fragile and expensive to service and maintain. Whether that is correct or not I don't really care they have never interested me as bikes to own.

Went to the Motorbike expo today, had a look at the Terra. I'm exited, looks much better in the flesh. Seems sleek and it's comfortable to sit on. The throttle is incredibly easy to twist, I'd expect no forearm ache holding it open on long road stretches. I can get my toes on the ground comfortably, but have to see what happens in my MX boots.

The bike looks sleek and light, didn't feel top heavy so I can't work out where the weight is - other than down very low.

I really liked it.

Checked it out at the Expo last night - a very nice piece of equipment and have my name down for a demo ride in the next couple of weeks.

The reviewer above is correct about the side stand though - it springs back far too easily and I reckon a few owners will find their nice new piece of machinery having a little rest if they don't park carefully.

I noticed the Terra is oil in frame with the filler cap very easy to get at on the steerer tube. I like that.

That's a very easy fix though, hardly a problem.

How some dickwit came up with the idea a self retracting stand being safer than riding away with it down dumbfounds me.

I have seen so many people drop their bikes because of the stand not staying down when they over balance.

Just like my old XT 550

The 630 had the a self re-tractor
1 min with a hacksaw problem solved
The 650 ss design looks more smarter

After watching that vid i might have to sell the 630

The side stand is not actually auto retracting which I had read and was looking for when we checked it out at the expo. It stays down but just takes very little force to kick it up. I wondered if it is actually different to the ones in the US.

Yeah I got on and off it quite a few times, the side stand didn't retract once.
