I put in 5W40 rotella about october and go back to 20W50 in April. I have run 20W50 year round, but cranks sluggish and just does not feel right in the winter for a few miles.

I have little to say

ZDDP levels in engine oils have been reduced over the years in favor of protecting the health of the catalytic converters found on today's automobiles and motorcycles.
In order to keep protection levels equal in the face of diminished ZDDP, oils now contain other EP additives as well as improved friction modifiers. Also, our boxers have rather mild valve spring pressure and as such, cam followers and cam lobe surfaces need little ZDDP. I prefer motor oils with increased anti shear properties to oils with high levels of ZDDP. |
