My friends in Saskatchewan and Alberta both talk to me about good rates out that way.

Ohhhh...to have BackRoaders spare time...looks like it'll work well, though.

Sure beats crawling under the bike.

You should paint it with floor paint, that way all the wood won't end up soaked in oil.

    Happy New Year everyone!

I had plans to be at lunch yesterday but got felled by the flu on Friday night. Still not 100% but at least I'm up and about.
I did sneak up with Lynn to Polo Park yesterday afternoon but likely should have stayed at home. I ran into Carl and Deb there so if they get the bug in a couple of days I appologize profusely...

Hope to see you all sometime before spring,
    Ian

P.S. Charlie and I have our sleds idling and ready to go so LET IT SNOW!!!

Well, I hate to chime in with exactly what everyone else is saying, so I will wish everyone a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda instead...along with the hope that we will all have both health, and sufficient wealth to be able to ride as far and as long as we dream...:wings

It was so good to see the bunch at the CanadInn on Sunday!!! Let's do it again soon...

Cross-posted from the Dr. Cool thread, and duplicated on the Northern Riders forum as well...

I was just thinking that today would be a good day to order another Dr. Cool sticker - you know - it IS Tuesday, it IS a New Year, and if he were here, many folks would be tipping a glass with him...Ordering a sticker would allow you to figuratively offer a "Happy New Year" to him, while supporting the family he left behind.

I have a Dr. Cool sticker on my bike, and want to have a spare one to put somewhere I travel to this year...Let's see if we can get 100 ADVrider inmates to order a sticker, and do the same - so we can fill this thread with Dr. Cool sightings over the next year.

MotoAxe, I am wondering whether there have been arrangements made for using PAYPAL ???

I made the mistake of putting my dr cool sticker on before deciding to paint my bike so I'd like another one as well. Let me know where I can buy one!

Hey I like that. How do you get the bike up on the ramp? Ride, push, winch? How much weight can it handle? My Goldwing is 750lbs (just a little more than a KLR) ;)

The bike has to be pushed up....

    - load capacity, according to the orginal dersigner has been tested up to 450 LB. I suspect it will take up to 500, however the castors I used are only rated to 540 LB.

    - it's a bit of a crap shoot to get a balance point as each bikes center of weight is different. Because I added casters, the height changed by two inches and left me with steeper climb.

In hind sight I would add 6" in length to the deck and lower it by 2".
