it looks like a nice bike, and i would love to add one to the stable. it is not exactly my cup of tea, as i prefer something more offroad oriented, ie the 990. i can't believe they are canning the 990. bike is such an icon. :cry

Seen an orange one at the dealer yesterday. The R version would be delivered soon aswell.

Looks nice but not my cup of tea, the engineering of the older KTM's look so mutch more brutal. Maybe the R can turn me on.

Hmmm, wonder if that front fender could be retrofitted to a 990? :hmmmmm

I am thinking the same thing. Technically, the new bike seems a proper step forward (especially the motor :evil ). But something about the styling... it just seems a little soft (a bit less KTM perhaps and more mainstream) in comparison to past bikes. And I already miss the high exhaust pipes.

Nonetheless, I already have an R model on order. Gonna be a bit of a wait though, I was informed by my dealer we (western Canada) won't be getting the standard bike til Oct '13 and no set date yet for delivery of the R bikes.

Anyway, congrats to all you boys and girls that are about to take delivery. And definitely looking forward to seeing the pics and reading about the new ride get along in the real world.

That R is nice, it's the first time that I see the bike from rear and I can see the narrow Akrapovic:clap, very different from the side view, which is bulky.
Only is urgent the tires change, they are not longer "Ready to Race":cry

They are ready to race ... on tarmac.
I wonder how a real dual sport tire will fit in such wide rims; front is 2.50 and rear is 4.50, wider than the already too wide 950/990 rims...
