Yeah, witnesses saw the whole thing, did nothing, a real shame indeed. The one lady thought the guy was the owner, but come on, how many bike owners would cut their tie-downs instead of opening them the normal way?!?

Luckily there were 2 cameras, one at the joint pointing exactly at our car+trailer, the other at the bar venue next door where the accomplice was waiting with his car (the bump start area). Let's hope we can read the plates of the French car. The cops should get the footage from the owners this week. Fingers crossed!

I lock my bike's frame to trailer's frame with heavy duty chain, and ball pin lock it to truck's frame. if the theif still think about it, will figure it out a way to bust his ball out

Sorry to hear it Tony. FWIW, I tweeted the photo, description, and approximate location out to all the Rally Raid Review followers asking for some retweets.

I was aiminig at giving the Abu Dhabi DC another shot next year after marshalling there this year. I felt I was missing out on all the fun Let's hope these buggers don't mess up my plans!
I can't be bothered and afford to have to build a new bike and source all the parts again for another go!

The police and I both believe that they directly took the bike to France. The border was after all just 500m away. Luckily, I have many French rallye friends, one who even happens to live in Strasbourg. I have informed him to keep a watch out in the area for the bike. Plus, another mate owns a popular French rallye site where the case has been posted. He won't have any luck trying to sell it in parts, they're rare and barely anybody wants to have them. The bike won't be registerable either, all he can do is ride in in his garden where nobody can see him...

Or in my basement, but just for a while.

Hope you get your bike back, and they get those a-holes!

That sucks big time Tony. I have not much hope to find your bike or parts of it in Holland, but i will post a link here anyway.

Good luck!!

Thanks guys

Word from the coppers so far is that they have reviewed the footage from the McDrive only to see 2 guys attempting to remove the bike from the trailer. They have yet to analyse the footage from the bar next door with the car with French plates should be visible. Taking their time with this reviewing will not make finding this bike any easier

At least you have some feedback, that is good. I am confident you will get the plates ... And then you post them here and let the games begin

Hope you hear the good news soon !
