Yes. I you are going to run a 110/90 you really should have a 2.15" rim. There are lots more tire choices in 110/80 which will work well with a 2.5 or 2.75 rim.
Just got my FCR/xF040x upgrade installed! What an improvement! If only Suzuki would make this a factory upgrade option along with the option of a 6th gear. Can you say Adventure bike monopoly!! Details in my blog...if anyone is interested.
Went out on my first ride of the season and on the new DR650 :) Love how light and nimble it is...like a big moped for sure! Much better for around town unlike the XS650 I had. Now then..where do I get cases? Do I need racks or do they go on the stock ones? Cheapest hard cases around? Thanks!
So .. Just got back into motorcycles after a long break ... Purchased 2 Harley's .. They are nice but I think I would rather have a light do anything type of bike ...not a lot of dirt trails nearby but miss sneaking into the trails we have in town .. Could prob ride if I kept the bike quiet but I guess realistically in would be 80% street 20% trails ...would love any ideas .. Thanks
http://www.seahorse.net/ may look like your ugly indestructible stepsister but $$ friendly. OR http://www.mcmelectronics.com/browse/Weatherproof/0000001435 A little cheaper. Don't believe the website, call to see if they are in stock. I defer to the resident experts on racks. Enjoy your new ride.
Seeing how you have two HD MC, I recommond the DR650. You may start liking the forest road stuff and move closer to the 50/50 mark. Plus it makes a good commuter. The stock suspension makes her a little clumsey. A couple of hundred dollars will make her handle much better even with a 21" tyre. Without a doubt, go Mighty DR!
I'd say DR, not the DL (V-Strom)...the V-Strom is pretty much a 100% road bike, regardless of all the hype you read on the internet. But you DO understand that at least 50% of the Harley riders are no longer going to wave at you when you're on a Suzuki of ANY flavor, don't you? Seriously. .....
I have both and "light do anything" are not adjectives I would associate with the DL. Both are great budget bikes that will take a lot and keep asking for more. But if the words "trail" or "dirt" are anywere in your vocabulary, you can't go wrong with a DR. If I had to have just one bike, it'd be the DR.
I was following my wife on my DR and she was on her Grom. Somehow she smoked a deer and didn't wipe out or do any sort of damage to the bike or herself!
anyone here using a dowco weather plus cover? if so what size are you using..... and whats a good cheap aftermarket throttle tube?
