As a nautical archaeologist, I love old ships, whether they be in port or on the bottom of the ocean. There are threads elsewhere devoted to showing your bike ON a boat or at a boat ramp. This thread will be your bike in front of an old ship, boat, or any seagoing vessel, whether afloat or on the bottom (good luck!), more than 50 years old.

As I posted in a recent ride report, I recently took a picture of my bike in front of the Ada Mae. She's currently moored in New Bern, North Carolina. She was built in Rose Bay, North Carolina by Ralph Hodges in 1915 and is the last surviving North Carolina-built skipjack. I had the pleasure of sailing and working on her several times the past few years.

And one of her under sail taken shortly after Hurricane Irene hit North Carolina in 2011.

It's the remains of the British sailing ship Peter Iredale that ran aground in 1906 near the mouth of the Columbia river on the Oregon coast

Belongs to an organisation that restores old ships. At this moment they are rebuilding an old wooden sailing ship, but that's inside a hangar that wasn't open that day.

In Port San Julian, Argentina, is a replica of the Nao Victoria integral of the 5 ships that sailed in command of Magellan on his world tour.
