When riding home from work in the dark, rain, and fog should you happen to run over a big ass raccoon at 55 MPH (or so), the bike keeps on rolling. . .

    Nice!

I damn near hit an immature buck tonight but felt confident my 1150GSA would have won.

Oh forgot about that, I've avoided a big Doe and 4 turkeys this week, but Ranger Rick was unlucky this evening.

I was riding back from lunch the other day and had a turkey start to run across the road from the left and took off just ahead of me...hit me right in the shoulder. Incidently, I was carrying a turkey sandwich in one of my panniers.

    Dripping with irony. Love it.

I was riding on the interstate on Monday and a pigeon missed my helmet by inches. I'm still repenting for the words that came out of my mouth.

Had to juke and duck under my windscreen to avoid hitting a crow getting off to a slow start this morning. I should have reached up and batted the sucker out of the way. :evil

None, it happened so fast that there was no time to react. Basically a dynamically placed speed bump.

I wonder if I had more time to react and try to swerve if the result would have been different.

FYI: Friggen turkeys are all over the place. In the past 5 years they are everywhere now. I think I am more worried about hitting one of those 18lb birds than avoiding the gobs of cell-phone toting cagers I encounter daily.

+1 on the turkeys. They're a menace here in TN. I nearly had one take my head-off recently. A couple more inches and I think he would have been having me for Thanksgiving. :eek1

I hit a steel beam on the freeway at 70mph and made it. And I was on a 1956 harley hardtail. It's the rider more then the bike. Allthough my hp2E is my favorite bike I've had. I grew up riding dirt bikes which helps prepare you for alot. Richard ??????????????????????????

I lost my house, my truck and half my 401K in a divorce action but my GS came through unscathed.

I thumped one in similar fashion on a CBR 600. I was going between 60and 65 and the little beast went under the front wheel, cracked the lower fairings and bounced off my boot before scurrying into the woods. The bike kept right on rolling through it all.

I was coming up to one of my favorite sweeping left handers 2 days ago. When I came into the blind curve I was disappointed that there were 2 cars ahead of me and i had to slow down considerably. Just as I did a doe hopped out of the trees and got slammed by the first car. I was no longer dissapointed that the 2 cars were there. It was surprising how much damage a small doe did to a Mercury Grand Marquis.

2 years ago I hit a Pit Bull with a Boulevard S50. Ran right over him and that bike sits low but went straight. He was out to take a chunk of my leg. Fuck him and the owner and the owners mother-------I wanted to go back but the dog got up......

Blammo! They do handle the deer really well though.

No crash, and went on in the day (minus a front-fender) to ride sweet roads...

The deer had an extended time-out on the side of the road.
