Looks like a KLR.... Only not as ugly. If it goes to market it would be interesting to see the final design. I kind of like the look. Looks like the pipe would take a beating on the trail as low as it is near the engine case
I like the Bulldog, but Yamaha's XTW250 concept looked a lot better to my eyes. I think we saw it back in 2011.
If Yamaha ever puts 399cc in a T-dub, there'll be one in my garage. Maybe two. Real suspension would be nice too.
I can dig everything but the 15 inch wheels. Another example on lately how Honda can take a good idea and just ruin it.
For the uninformed; what's wrong with the 15" wheels if it's not an off road bike as such? I think Honda aren't touting it as a GS or anything, just a bike for camping roads and simple gravel trails, roads you could do on a Ducati Panigale
+1 Like a larger capacity, highway capable, touring, TW400. Ride it all the way to the campground before puttering around while you're there.
Bad ideas? The black tank guards fold down to make a changing table, the front fender and headlight guard detach to make an atlatl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VlOpwsj09c, and the muted colors are designed to instill a false sense of serenity in attacking zombies. Clearly it's marketed for the home survivalist. Honda truly has their finger on the pulse of what one or two Americans want.
I also saw that in an on-line review - mechanicals taken directly from the home-market CB400 twin. So if the mechanicals are the same as the home-market CB400, which are the same as the export CB500 (except for displacement), could the bodywork be enlarged/modified to fit the existing CB500X frame/running gear? I think so. Keep the OEM 17" mag wheels. Give it a decent seat height to go with the CB500X peg height/placement. Seems like an inexpensive way to create a different model in the lineup.
