Just traded my buddy a duplicate Ruger LCP I had for this 870 (along with 1000 200gr hollowpoint .45 bullets, a Lyman reloading guide, 2 bottles of powder and some other goodies).

The 870 was in a state of abuse. He picked it up from someone who had put camo stickers all over it. When he got it he put the 18" barrel on another 870 and a brand new 28" on this one.

I got it home, removed the stickers and it had an awful residue left all over it. After a lot of elbow grease, I took it down to the bare wood. I used some of my wife's homemade stain to bring out the checkering then refinished the wood. I now have a decent shotgun for bird hunting or shooting clays. It is a 1994 model.

Just picked up one of these:

Going to put one of these on it:

This might tenderize my shoulder meat a bit. That .338 makes a .308 look like a pop gun round.

GOOD JOB, now that's how a shotgun should look like!!

I also went with wood with my Mossberg 590A1..
but I sanded down and just gave it a bad of used motor oil to the wood.
