Looks like all the threads with the Greensboro, Burlington, and Winston guys are really old now. Anyone still around? Two of us north of Greensboro just bought a pair of DR650's. I'm familiar with some of the sport bike riding areas, but not so much with DS stuff. Who's up for a meet and greet when the temperature gets above freezing?

I live 20 minutes south of G'boro and I am looking to purchase a dual sport before this spring. There are quite a few riders here from the greater triad area. Meet and greet sounds fine.

Hopefully some of the others will chime in. Will this be your first dual sport? My experience is mostly with sport bikes and a little on dirt bikes.

Will be my first dual sport bike that I own. A friend used to have a DR350 that I put more miles on the bike than he did. I want a mid sized bike that can run highway speeds, ride trails and small enough to take with me on vacation to the mountains and the beach.

Skim through the NC Tag-o-Rama thread. There are a few of us in the Piedmont. I can't account for who rides off road, though.

I finally got my tag. Mounted a new rear tire yesterday. I'm itching to take the new bike out. Might take it out for a short ride this weekend even though it still has the seven year old stock front tire still on it. :eek1

Reidsvillle checking in. I think there's a guy from Madison around somewhere, too.

I'm on a DL650. Not into off road, but gravel and back roads are good.

That makes three of us from Reidsville. I don't have plans for any real offroading. Not on purpose anyway. That's what the dirt bike is for. Besides, I crash too much in the dirt. I'd hate to destroy my new bike before spring. :muutt

Westfield,NC here. Just east of Mt Airy. I know a few dirt roads........but today they're either iced over or have a half inch of greasy wet mud on top when thawed. Let;s play when it gets warm!!

I'm in Mad-city. There are a couple of us around here. Ride a V-strom and have been on some gravel and dirt, but not much. Would like to get better at it though.

Good to see Rockingham County starting to have more of a presence here. :)

    Check the Raleigh Fayetteville thread.
Not all of us live down in the sandbox area.

Live in triangle but hit the hills to DS ride.

I am currently looking for a DS but have a KLR650, DR650 and triumph tiger at my disposal when I beg hard enough....

Give me a shout when you want to ride. Never too cold for me. I ride everyday to work. It was 11 degree's one morning last week. :freaky

BTW, we are looking at a New years day ride between I77- hwy421 interchange (where I stays) and Martinsville...

I've had my ZR-7 on a few gravel and sand roads. Riding back roads in north west NC and south west VA is where I am happy to ride though.
