Looks like enough interest to start some organized or semi organized dual sports rides around the Triangle (Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Chatham, Harnett, Granville, etc counties).

Anybody know some long dirt roads as a starting point to create some routes? Most of the ones I'm familiar with are short and dead ends. I remember driving down one SE of Harris Lake several years ago that seemed to go one for many miles, might be paved by now...I'll google map it and see.

    Go for it.
I need to get better tires.
Or ideally a second set of tires for my bike.
Ugh. Back to wanting a road bike. :evil

There's a little bit of two-track stuff between 55/40 and 55/540. It makes for a fun afternoon of piddling around.

We should meet up near Brier Creek and ride the Alexander Dr/Page Rd trails/powerlines one day. I'm good most afternoons now that it's not dark at 5:30 or most weekends. Will probably be out of town this weekend...but if not, I'm riding.

The forecast for Sunday was 100% dead wrong. The overcast, cold, rainy day turned into a nice sunny day with no rain anywhere on the radar until later tonight.

Looks like it's gonna dry up and be downright hot by the weekend.

So if you move away from this area and then move back to the Traingle, does that make you a Retar....ahh never mind. I'm in:D.

Going to be sunny and warm this weekend. Too nice to pass up the opportunity to ride....and I'm not feeling much like street riding and tearing up knobbies.

Went out and did a quickie on the power line trails between Alexander Dr and Page Rd. It needs to dry up some, there are some big puddles out there, LOTS of big 4x ruts, and some deep erosion ruts. Anybody else familiar with this spot? Looks like there are a lot of side trails that go into the woods, but I didn't venture down those.

    Yea I'm familar with it.

Watch out for those mud puddles. Some are deeper than they look.
    :puke1

I swear getting covered in that mud is what made me sick. :lol3

Is that were you did your Dual sport scuba diving?

I looked for the driest route around those big puddles. At one spot, I ventured over into the woods and crawled through the woods past the wet area to avoid going mudding. I don't like mud, or deep water (on the bike). Especially when I'm out there alone. We need to take a ride out there together...so we can laugh at each other! :lol3

I'll give you credit, or call you crazy, for going out there with street oriented tires. I have full knobbies, and couldn't imagine anything less!
