BMW states that replacing the clutch on my 07' F650GS is a 6 hour job. I have never done it on this bike but I cant see it taking 6 hours. Am I missing something? Do I need special knowledge or tools from the planet Krypton or am I just being BaMboozaled? Any insight would be a great help.
Hours sounds about right for an amateur... lol. Go read this thread, excellent write up on how to replace your own clutch and the pitfalls: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=617112 Cheers Tim
Two hours would include the time to drink a beer while admiring your handiwork following the 30 minute test ride after you replaced the clutch. That is assuming you could keep the test ride that short The thumper is a lot more work since you have to remove the water pump which means draining the coolant and oil and requires removal of some of the plastic too.
