I don't know if you can downsize this any further for rallying.

Here we go again, Hellaas next week stated to run under the FIM regs and Phaorons the week after with the start sequencing as per current FIM regs:evil

We know that Sam and Mathias won't be in Egypt as they are riding Hellas in preparation for Sardinia, will any of the other HRC or KTM team be there, they weren't last year, but entry list out today so we will find out soon:clap

Clarity - as much as spectators and rider don't like the regs, they are not being strictly adhered to in any event.
The statement on the last day is clear and in both events to date the riders have selected their last day start positions.

Change - we understand that the riders have complained, will this make any difference, will they change the regs?

Also in Hellas the top 10 are off at 1 minute intervals, so that has the potential to impact the proceedings also - maybe due to the sheer numbers in the rally? - a great presence though with over 130 bikes, buggies and quads. We would expect the top 3 in the start list to dominate though? http://hellasrally.org/starting-list/

    1 Matthias Walkner M1 20:30:00 09:00 09:30 09:33
    2 Sam Sunderland M1 20:30:30 09:01 09:31 09:34
    3 Robert Van Pelt M1 20:31:00 09:02 09:32 09:35

Is that the KTM weapon of choice for Hellas and Sardinia?

Without being disrespectful to the field It will be an interesting little competition within the competition and also to see how Robert VP stack up against them.

Sam and Matthias should have similar speeds, but I feel Sam will have the edge on the navigation :evil:D

I'm not sure this rally will favor Sam. Rocky pistes with a bunch of wrc style terrain. I look forward to seeing how he does in Greece and then again in Italy.

And whilst on 4 wheels Cyril and the Pug will be back in action in China and guess who with?

In Googleenglish - and in DutchDutch - http://www.rallymaniacs.nl/1889-david-castera-nieuwe-navigator-cyril-despres

David Castera - new navigator for Cyril Despres
    Natascha Kayser | 30-4-2015 | 21:27
David Castera, until recently, the race director of the Dakar Rally, the new navigator Cyril Despres at Peugeot. Castera years was responsible for the routes and road books of the Dakar Rally. In a test session in Morocco he was for the first time as co-pilot on Despres in the car.

Cyril Despres made in the last Dakar debut in the car class after the rally five times as a motorcyclist to his name. The debut of Despres was also the return of Peugeot in the Dakar and it was accompanied by quite a few teething problems. The Dakar was Despres navigated by Gilles Picard, but which was only previously available.

"David Castera and I have known each other for more than fifteen years, especially from our history in the engines," said Despres. "This collaboration is a new experience for both of us, but it feels good." The China Grand Rally in late August, the first contest Despres and Castera will ride together.

Castera (43) was third in the Dakar 1998 with motors. ASO When he was the second man behind Etienne Lavigne. In that capacity, he was made responsible for all routes since the Dakar in 2009, the crossing to South America. Castera so does virtually every meter of the stages, at least those in Peru and Argentina. Lavigne left already know not to oppose the "new challenge" of his former right hand. According to Lavigne, there need not be a great advantage for Castera. "The routes and the conditions are still different each year."
