Anyone know of some good dual-sport rides near the Northern Virginia area?

Watch the EAST forum. Check for my posts and Skyline Keith's posts... Actually, PM him.

He has a KTM 950, DRZ400, and I have a KTM 640 ADV. Some others have true dualsports too.

We went out recently and had an awesome day. We got plans to do WVA, Keith has about 3 hrs of gravel/country road to ride. Little sploring too.

Thanks Barry! I don't have an all-out dual-sport, R12GS, but have some dirt experience, just not real good at hucking around a 500-lb enduro right now - need more seat time =)

    Appreciate the heads up.

Keith's route is perfect for a GS. It's a fun day of riding. I want to go soon, maybe next weekend?? :ear Got a few mods I got to try out too.

Thanks for the votes of confidence guys. I have been actively seeking out the gravel and dirt riding in the area but I think it is time we tapped into Omars knowledge of DS riding. Shen 500 on a GS? you rock Omar...and Barry does ride:rofl

Barry, how did it go with your friends KTM buying experience?

No Shen 500 route till I replace my bent bars. I will like to do the WVA gravel route we skipped last time though.

I have 4-5 sets of stock Harley handlebars. Will they work? :rofl Seriously, if you wanted to sell them on ebay to buy yourself some new handlebars, you would do me the favor of getting them out of my garage.

I don't think he wants to spend $3K for a bike his son will use 2 years. I think they are (rightly) looking at used bikes.

Thanks for the POC. They did get a much better price and zero BS - good warm fuzzy - from your buddy.

Supposed to go race a harescramble this Sunday on Squiggy's WR250 F I just bought from him. Sooo... no riding for me this weekend with youse guys.

If the rain washes that out, it will likely wash out riding in general.

Nothing big. Just a Touratech tool plate so I can remove my rear seat. I am modifying some luggage to fit in it's place. I may have it ready by this weekend to test it on the road.
