Love to be able to play anything near that. I was out in the garage listening to Taj Majal, another great one. :clap

So at RMAR in Meeker, I broke my thumb and a bone in my wrist. Been bummed that I cannot grip the throttle and ride. Today I found that there are advantages to broken bones:evil. Sewer line between the house and the septic tank backed up. So Jr. got a life lesson of running the sewer snake! Went between the cleanout and the tank, no go. So he had to run it through the shower drain and the cleanout, then the cleanout again and the tank. Took an hour and half, but he got the turds out!:clap Jr. got a life lesson, and I got some laughs! Now back to learning to use my left hand.

I broke the 5th metacarpal in my right hand last fall and had surgery to pin it back together. I think the immobilization in the cast caused more issues than the break itself. Lost lots of muscle and couldn't even perform some movements at all for quite a while after the cast came off. Looking back, I think if they had done a better job with the cast in limiting it to only what was really needed instead of essentially immobilizing my whole hand, and giving me a better idea of what movements etc I could/shouldn't do, I would have come out of it a whole lot better. Don't be afraid to ask them, or modify your cast yourself, if you are going to be in it a while and don't think it was done right. Just my $0.02.

When I broke my leg, it took longer to get my knee working again, than it did for the leg to heal. They hadn't invented those recovery exercises yet. :gerg

The orthopedic doc go to is a friend. Plus he has cut on my neck, ankle and knees, as well hand so he set me up.
The cast is cut so I can remove it and work my wrist and fingers. There is a splint that holds my thumb I wear when I do this. 2 weeks in the bone is healing. So a couple more weeks and it will be ready for desert riding out in Sand Wash!:clap

While we're on this topic... my knee can be ignored no longer.

I've love to hear some recommendations for orthopedic doctors in Boulder County or Denver. It's time... :deal

    Who do you recommend?

On the recommendations of a PT friend and a friend who has had knee problems for years, I went with Dr. Paul at Boulder orthopedics. So far I've only had one appointment, but he seemed very knowledgeable and communicated well. Something my previous hand surgeon didn't do well and it bothered me. Have to wait for the MRI results to know whether any cutting will be involved.

I recommend Robert LaPrade at the Steadman Clinic. You have to go up to Vail for the surgery, but he's one of the best.
