If you get a shop to rebuild the head: make sure you emphasize that the valves are stellite coated and cannot be ground. If they try and grind them down like other bikes you'll need new valves in about 10,000km.

Test Fire #1: Battery was dead.

Test Fire #2: Engine starts with 1/5th choke and idles like the day it was born. Which was today, technically.

Test Fire #3: Same as above. Sounds a bit clackety, presumably a carb sync and the timing chain adjustment will take care of that for the most part.
