I just lightly crashed my beloved 1 owner GMC Yukon with 250,000 miles on it. The repair bill is well past what the book value is and even though it is a great truck, I should probably let it go. The body shop offered $500 for it which I think is a little low. Anybody out there buy this kind of thing or know of a local (Renton) company that does?
What year is it? That's about the right price for junkyard value. If it's worth fixing, and really was just a light crash, you should be able to fix it with the help of Pick-n-pull and ebay. Fenders, grilles, etc. are surprisingly easy to replace on most vehicles, and the parts are insnaley cheap at most junk yards.
It's all dependent on the year and body style.... I wrote a total on a Suburban that was the body style before the current one with 220k miles with a hard hit to the side that will probably bring in $15-1700 at salvage auction. Shoot high, throw it up on craigslist and see what it will bring.
Salvage yards will pay little more than the iron recyclers. You will do better parting out any good parts on craiglist or ebay or at web site classifieds that catter to the type of vehicle.
It is very hard to tell from one small picture, but that looks very fixable by someone in their driveway. Make sure the frame is straight (It really looks like there is no way it could be bent, but who knows.) Then, either put it on Craigslist for a grand, or get yourself to a junkyard for the parts to fix it.
