Tendonitis in left (clutch) hand -- driving in traffic irritates it. The front brake is much lighter. Is it insane to think of the clutch on the right, brake on the left? Could the perches and handles be swapped? Is this asking for a giant accident? Has anyone else tried this?

Are you confident you can 're-programme' your brain to pull the correct lever in the event of an emergency stop??:huh

x2. I know I sure as hell couldnt do that.

Sure its not something like carpal tunnel?? My dad had that and said it felt similar to tendonitis. Surgery fixed it.

He brings up a good point. WHat about putting in a Rekluse clutch?? The way I understand it, you only use the clutch when coming to a stop. To prevent you from having to hold the lever in, kick it into neutral as you stop and let the lever back out.

Edit - Just found this on their site.

Do I have to use the clutch lever?
You have the option of using the clutch lever at any time, but it is not necessary. Some riders find that they rarely use the clutch lever to override the Auto-Clutch and choose the Rekluse Brake Kit. The Rekluse brake kit replaces the clutch lever with a left hand brake lever to actuate the rear brake. Note some models come with a 2-Finger Override lever to retain the clutch override feature.

This is the question!! I have switched from right gearshift (old British style) so maybe... The irony is that I actually like manual transmissions -- have them in my cars! I don't think they make a Rekluse clutch for my F650 GS twin. Wondering if anyone has tried the switch -- guess not.

They tell me that will not fit the F650GS Twin.... I'll probably try the Moose Racing box maybe with an aftermarket lever. I am confused about how it (or a new lever) can reduce effort without compromising engagement / disengagement. But I'll give it a try before making a dyslexic motorcycle. I was hoping some one would have gone there first.... oh well....

Rekluse don't list a clutch replacement for the BMW - AFAIK.

    I've been checking regularly.

Nope, not for the twin. They do for the F and G singles.

Bullshit, they just don't have a clue. There is nothing different between the two bikes in this regard.

Both clutch perches are exactly the same part, if the cable/hose length is different by a tiny bit it won't matter.

That's weird -- they claimed they check with Twalcom --- I'll email them again. Are the internals of the clutch different? Would that matter?

The F800 has larger diameter bars, that could be what they mean. The F800 bars are tapered though so the clutch mounting lever should be the same.

No, it's not. Just like on (all) other bikes the thicker F8 bars are tapered with 28mm (1 1/8") in the center, and 22mm (7/8") on the outside. Industry standard.
