Haven't seen this subject anywhere and was wondering what is the best wax/cleaner to use to protect the bike? Not worried about getting it dirty but would like to protect body parts as much as possible. What are the best ways to do this?

    Thanks,

    Larry

Honda Pro Cleaner. You can use it on every surface. It's a breeze to use, protects and works great on your helmet & shield too. I even use it to wax the car.

If your bike has less than 18,000 miles on it you are supposed to use carnauba
wax. After you hit 18,000 miles and the paint has fully cured you can start using silicone based wax.

I had always been under the impression that you should wait 30 days (miles would be irrelevant) before waxing a new paint job, this gives the solvents in the paint time to escape, after that you can use whatever type of wax suits you, they each have their own benefits and drawbacks.
By the time most people get their BMW bikes (in the U.S) they are at least 2 weeks old.

within 30 days you should be on your second or third recall. When the bike is in the shop have the dealer apply genuine BMW wax. Your dealer knows best:D

I use borax mixed with bison urine to wax mine, but only after I let the bike idle for 12-15 minutes.

My old bike got washed twice. Once before I got it as part of PDI and once before I sold it.

What is this wax you are speaking of? Something we are supposed to have and know?
