In search of noobs (and those who don't mind riding with noobs :freaky) who want to ride Big Bear (in May?) and other SoCal locations. So, if you're a noob or a more experienced rider who'd be interested in showing us the ropes in the mountains:evil post up here.

    Thanks!

I'm in the Hesperia area and ride with friends that stage out of the High Desert for day rides up to the mountains or out to the desert on small (250cc) dual sport bikes. Our big trips are camping trips where we ride in and around the Death Valley area staging at Dumont Dunes.
Would love to have more riders with us regardless of level. :clap

Let me know our when you are free and I'll put a trip together.

I would like to ride South main divide this Sunday.

Open to times and places to go.
    Maybe...
Start at Hells kitchen off Hwy 74 maybe around 10 am and ride south to Temecula or even down into Fallbrook or wine country.

All pavement with some great views and scenery!!

    Hey all respondees:clap

Looks like we may be making some progress here! I'm available most weekends, really looking to get out on some dirt.

Kali, I'm up for road riding anytime. I want to see if I can get some dirt this Sunday, but if not.....

Dunerider - sounds good. If you don't mind posting up when/where you're going for the NoobNation that'd be great!:evil:clap Sounds like you've done the road from Rimrock to Big Bear - is that route noob friendly? I've always wanted to see that road, my bro and sister in law used to live up Burns Canyon.

    Me again....

Go to the thread that AirBornDad listed (and go to the last page, look for the discussion on RFK) - there is a 100 mile, dual sport, fundraising ride in San Bernardino area this Sunday for children's cancer research. Any takers?

Thanks, just checked it out and saw the fundraising ride on Sunday. Looking like a plan for a fun day. Saw some other posts I want to get more info on - some really pretty looking roads in the mountains.

The RFK is a great event! Partner up, leave early, keep your stops to a minimum, bring your GPS and roll chart holder, then have a great ride!

Yikes, roll chart holder. Any chance they have them at the event? I don't think any of the shops around here would carry them. Do they give you a good map of the route or just the roll chart?

You won't have time to read a map. Cycle Gear will have roll chart holders.

You can avoid one NooB mistake if you remember to load the rollchart from the bottom :deal

Joined The Big Bear Trail Riders Club over the weekend. Good place to meet riders of all levels. They have a breakfast meeting once a month and then break up into different rides for the rest of the day based on skill level and interest. Also a good place to meet people for rides on your own. More info can be found at http://www.bigbeartrailriders.com/ .

That's a good story, have another one?
No roll chart holder required for this event if you have a GPS. Seems RAZR and I were the only ADV people there yesterday for this event. The event raised over $47,000 for the Paediatric Brain Cancer Foundation. Too bad more people didn't show up and break the $50k mark for a great cause.

Let me say that for a second year, this ride also helped me to contribute to the National Innertube Association with a record four (4) flats in the first 20 miles of the ride. Nails and bolts :puke1. So after using all of my tubes and even snagging one from some flat billers I ran across :clap, I had to head back to the vehicle and call it a day as I knew this was not my day for riding, especially with a massive hangover in tow.

    BTW, Kalitrailrider isn't a Noob...........................
