West Fest 2008 (8/8-10)

The location for West Fest 08' is going to be located just South of town, maybe a half mile, at the Texan Resort!! This place has several acres of pristine camping along a river (San Juan I think) and the owner is digging two lakes as well. While on my recon the place was snow covered and it was hard to make everything out, but I believe there is a huge pavillion to party under if it rains.....


The registration fee for this years West Fest 2008 is $59.75 PER PERSON. What do you get for your money?

1. Beef brisket/chicken and 2 sides - slaw and beans/corn w/ bread and coffeee/ice tea/lemonade
2. Gourmet burgers, 2 sides - potato salad and corn/green beans w/ bread and ice tea/lemonade.
3. 10 kegs of beer, a reggae band, WF 08 beer mug and 8 porta-potties ($2000 just for the terlets).
4. It's a few dollars more than WF 07, but I think with plenty of restroom facilities, plenty of beer and a band, it's well worth the price. Please pm me for a paypal address/snail mail address.

The cabins are first class (full kitchens and fully furnished) and the nightly rental reflects that so please plan to bunk up to defray the cost.

Also, when you call please ask for Arlen and let him know you're with WestFest '08 since I think we're gonna be the only one's he rents to so we can have to whole compound to ourselves!!

****PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT HE IS MAKING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION FOR US ON THE RENTAL. HE TYPICALLY RENTS BY THE WEEK ONLY, BUT IS ALLOWING A 2 NIGHT RENTAL FOR US ONLY AND THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF PORTA-POTTY'S AND MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR OWN CHARMIN.

TENT SPACE STARTS AROUND $25 FOR A TENT AND BIKE, $40 FOR A TENT AND TRUCK AND $60 FOR A TENT, TRUCK AND TRAILER (price is per night).

DO NOT PAY PAL ME THE BREAKFAST YET, THAT WILL COME LATER AFTER WE HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF FOLKS THAT WANT THE PANCAKE/BACON BREAKFAST.

Also, the river runs right through the proprty so we can trout fish and tube down the river as well.

I'll vote for anyplace high in the mountains, I don't want to go anywhere hot. I live in the Rockies for a reason. Lake City is nice.

I was also thinking somewhere in MT although Mark is wanting me to start one in UT. Torrey, UT would be nice but could be hot.

Let's just get this out of the way. There are no votes, your suggestions are completely ignored, preferences don't count for squat and nothing will happen unless you do it yourself. The rallies are NOT put on by ADVRider, there is NO committee that decides this stuff and it ONLY happens if someone actually does it.

Is anyone standing up on their back legs and volunteering to organize next year's rally? GSDude?

If no one volunteers to do it, there won't be a 2008 WestFest anywhere...

If you volunteer to do it, you get to choose where and when.

As long as we have Lenny to haul the grills to the next WF, it won't matter where it is! So long as the beer is abundant (EuroBiker), the chow is good (GSDude, etal), and riding is fun -- they'll show...
