So the Happy Joes I ate at last time closed. GPS took me to the Douglas store, the only one in Des Moines now. It's a carryout/delivery only. Getting one to go. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

I can unequivocably say that my engine has never had to be removed. :huh

Of course, the rear brake system is another story.

highly doubt i'll be making the car show with the old shortbox, or the bike show with... well any of my bikes(the S1 is the only one that would put on a good showing for that kind of thing anyway).

we will be in dubuque tonight, sat sun & mon. but i am taking the sm610 to do some playing while im there

although Jenn just did say we could leave mon morning if i really wanted... then id be able to swing by, or i could always cruise the truck up, leave it at dads, then pick it up on the way back from dubuque...

but... doubt i will. we only go there and see her family a couple times a year.

Of course, the best time for us would be Vintage Torque Fest

Deals gap is great. Best to go Monday through Wednesday....otherwise it can be a real zoo and or parade. Also there are other roads in the area nearly as entertaining but not so popular...

Got out to do some riding this weekend. Got off to a late start about 11:00pm Friday night. Check my blog for some pics.

I spent the past few days getting in the last of my parts before the Colorado trip. I put the new carb floats and needles in only to find . . . that the carb inlet connections were leaking. There are three O-rings on each inlet . . . . Three gold-plated O-rings. The only way you can get them is by ordering the carb rebuild kit for oh, say about $270.

But, my butt was saved by a guy online who identified some O-rings in a kit at Advance Auto that somewhat work, and Doug at MotoSports, who pulled out his "spare" O-ring box and found some bizarre O-rings that worked perfectly. We did a little "mix and match" to make everything work again.

We now think that my carb is working thanks to advice from this forum re: rare Viton O-rings, and some O-rings from a 520 O-ring chain link. Thank you ADV Rider & MotoSports! My trip to Colorado is saved. ADV, Doug, Ron & Justine rule!

Never heard of it. Is this a sign that your German pump is "funktioniert nicht?"

I found a Felco fuel pump assembly that is safe for ethanol, but l don't like buying without knowledge. I'm in Billings at the moment, the manual will be waiting for me when we get back from Calgary.
