Word on the street is that NORRA may be part of a 3 day rally in September that goes from Mexicalli to Ensenada. It would be a combined CODE & NORRA event. CODE is a Mexican promoter who puts on "smaller" off road races in northern Baja.
Bike details now settled and going to sign up this weekend. I'm guessing from reading just because I'm riding a 450 I don't have to sign up in the Rally class do I? I will have a 6.3 gal tank but pretty far from a Dakar quality rider, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Just want to make sure I don't get it right before I sign up.
There's now a poker run option being added back to the rally. Just as much fun and adventure, less pressure to go fast. :) Details are here: https://www.norra.com/m1kpoker_run.php Cheers, Anders
Also, if you're making lodging plans, a list of hotels with contact information was just posted: https://www.norra.com/PDFs/NORRA_RA_2013_03_14.pdf
A good Catholic boy, who's maned after a nun and always needs loads of prayers. The Blue Nun found a good home in the LC Garage! Enjoy the day, Grimmy
And she is newly rebuilt and is going to be ready for the race. I hear she has been rechristened though....... something about LAMEinator..... read all about it on this thread. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=858922
Hey Baja Dad, I need some of those pre printed numbers for the Mexican 1000. I sent you a pm but got no response. Are they still available?
Interesting that nobody has entered in the "evolution" classes yet. Seems like there would be lots of us (myself included) with dirt bikes from the late 80's/early 90's that would be wanting to race that class. Stagehand's 1990 GS-PD would be a fine example. dc
If I didnt have very serious doubts as to the PD's ability to survive, I would have a lot less work to do, thats for sure What the hell though. If it finished, I'd eat like a king
This '88 xr600 should be entered. OA bike from '10 Mex1k, but different rider (faster, younger, more talented ) this year.
Nice! I hope to run in the evo class for 2014, obviously that's a long way out but that's the goal. If I can convince Stagey to come along Maybe we can both find airheads on which to wallow and galumpf through the silt. dc
is that the bike they have on display in mama espinosa's? looks a bit different, but i was pretty road fried when i went through there last week and was no longer really seeing straight. meanwhile, sorely tempted to give the motor a quick once over on the xt600 from hell that i bailed on entering a couple years back. fortunately a torn rotator cuff is telling me to sit still and try not to be (more of) a dumbass.
