So I used to keep all my riding antics in a thread that had mostly me and my girlfriend at the time. The thing about that thread is it sucked. Why'd is suck? There was about 150% too little Wolfpack. That being said, I've decided to start a new, more awesome thread. This thread, well it'll have all the same old shit, just a new name... ;)

So who the F is the Wolfpack? Well the short of it:

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xsGP35Vd6qQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

You might also remember us from such rides as:

And there is a CDT RR scattered around here somewhere...

You can't start a new thread without some picks, so here goes. Yesterday, I saddled up with my girlfriend and my friend Kelsie (both honorary Wolfpack members because they haven't left us yet). Steph just got a new bike, and she wanted to see what she could do, so I decided let's do a mix of twisties and dirt to find out what this puppy's all about.

We start out by heading up 93 from Lousiville to Golden Gate Canyon. Steph used to ride sport bikes, so she started flogging the little WR:

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7003563244/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8146/7003563244_82d78331fc_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

We hooked a right on Co Rd 7 (which Sean showed me in one of our earlier rides). We took this over to HW 119 north to Apex Valley Rd. This is where we started to really have fun. We started just exploring trails, and from time to time we hit some blocked trails:

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7003539268/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7184/7003539268_0403a25f27_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

On a few trails, we were able to skirt the snow, or it was shallow enough to go through:

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7003544076/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5072/7003544076_4efebb5a1d_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

Eventually, we stopped for some lunch:

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7003573512/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8025/7003573512_87d92c124d_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

Sean and Jay, please take note of how my lunch was prepared and plan accordingly for future rides.

After lunch, we started down a trail that got pretty hairy. Steph bolted down it, and Kelsie was starting down it when I heard Steph say it looked really tough. She couldn't turn her bike around, so I went down on the DRZ and helped her. When she took off, she thanked me by roosting the shit out of me:

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7003548770/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7196/7003548770_eaa325f290_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

We snapped a few beauty shots, and then headed back:

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7003546880/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7036/7003546880_ae38114dd9_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7003571358/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7111/7003571358_320a8e04c5_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7146406951/" title="Riding with the girls today by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7092/7146406951_7253058079_b.jpg" width="1024" height="439" alt="Riding with the girls today"></a>

On the way down, we took Upper Apex Rd over to Central City. On the way over, Steph just had to stop and play (which didn't bother me one bit...You might say I'm known for messing around):

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7003577068/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7207/7003577068_30479befa8_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtadlock/7149650627/" title="Untitled by rtadlock, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7259/7149650627_a42d78d26d_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Untitled"></a>

We headed back to 119, and took it to HW 72, with a few pit stops along the way. I think Kels was on the phone when I stole her bike:

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yXknvxfhP-g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Another great ride under my belt. I gotta say, riding the girls bikes around really makes me think about ditching the 990 for something a little smaller...

We rode up there a bit on Sunday.

Some places in no particualr order. 413, 290, blue moon gulch, apex, mammoth gulch, gross, south beaver, flagstaff...etc.

We tried for Kingston, but at some point you just have to say stop.

    West mag is closed.

Broke my speedo wire on the te610 for the umpteenth time. But I think I got a decent 180 miles in. I got home in time to get rained on for about 10 miles.

It was a good day to be out.

Sadly, I was just with another dude:lol3:lol3:lol3

I have a pic of the last time you ate a sandwich and Kelsie cookie in the middle of nowhere. My shrink says I'll get that image out of my head in another four years of therapy, twice a day. :cry

I guess that' why they call it Sin City...haha...

Well I would have had 3 girls with me, but Jay had to work...

Anyway, they followed me Paul. I think it's this new cologne I'm wearing. It's called Sex Panther and it works 60% of the time, every time.

We tried Kingston as well.. bahaha. I need to get a vid up of my buddy's spectacular snow endo.

West Mag is likely going to stay closed. I'll be surprised if they open the gates before they start the mitigation work. If that's the case, they'll be closed till at least Aug. In any event, they're are about 2.3 million downed trees across everything from the winter winds. Literally every 50'. Never seen it even close to this bad.

Moon had a few surprise trees as well.. got a full rodeo ride when I came around a corner hot.

Looks like you guys had fun :thumb Why don't you guys just pack in the drift and go over rather than around? The edge of the trail is kinda loose and full of plants, its way more fun (and less damaging) to just blast through the middle of it. Gets a little messier but it cleans and scrubs even the hard to reach areas of your skid plate.
I'm pretty familiar with the area, and just a heads up the cool hill in the last picture is either private property or city/cemetery property. The county is getting kinda pissed about all the make shift dirt tracks all the four wheeler flat billers are making.
That's cool you're able to make it pretty far up in altitude in that area, normally it's totally locked up until end of may :eek1

Thanks for the heads up on the hill we were playing on. Saw tracks all over it, and trails right off of it, and there were no signs saying it was off limits, so I just assumed it was safe to fart around on....oh well. Guess a little signage would probably go a long way.

I hear what you're saying about the snow drifts, and to be honest I really don't want to muck up a good thread with a bunch of back and forth banter, so if anyone wants to talk more about me messing up (which I do all the time... :D), please just shoot me an PM.

Also, who quotes all the pictures?....noob.... :rofl
