    The closures from the power station fire were renewed for this year, but I hear tale of the gates being open up by lake hughes. I kinda doubt it, but I will use it as an excuse for a big bike ride this weekend. I'll report back :devildog

    I called Angles Ranger station asking about some station fire closures (mainly the santa clara divide road/truck trail) and was told they expect them to open sometime in the spring april/may of 2016.

    That would be awesome. I hike my dogs from the west gate almost every weekend, and I figured they would not reopen it due to road conditions. In the first 100 yards part of the road is undermined due to erosion and there is a lot of debris on the road.

    i know you meant ANF. it will be to motorized vehicles soon.

    shawn, i asked the same question to district ranger bob blount......this spring or summer was the reply.

    you lucky dog, you live 15 minutes to the trail head. guess, we can do a bar-b-q after the ride at thompson ranch...haha.

    I almost feel guilty but blessed @ the same time living where i do, I'm sure others feel the same when you can ride from your garage!

    As for a ride & bbq back @ the pad I'm 110% in with that, maybe even get my buddies band & make it a party!!!
