So far, I am not feeling the love and Fargo must suck? I live in the land of 11 curves in 318 miles.. I can't be worse!

The Dakotas are actually pretty cool when you get off the interstate. Yes there are miles of flat roads but along the rivers to the west there is some fun. lots of gravel roads so bring a dual sport. The badlands of North Dakota are neat and you are just that much closer to the Rockies. I'd pick Fargo over anyplace in Illinois.

If you are into fishing/boating, tons of lakes close by in Minnesota. My grandparents had a cabin on a lake about an hour east of Fargo. I rode a yammy 250 all over Minnesota as a kid. I have many great childhood memories from that place.
I was born in Fargo, but my family moved into Minnesota when I was young, so no info on Fargo itself.

Southern Illinois along the rivers is great.

But I'd be very happy in Fargo. Keep in mind I'm a person who would be pleased to live in a place like Grand Island, Nebraska, or McCook, Nebraska.

Are you adept at entertaining yourself? Serious question.
How do you feel about wind?
Are you comfortable with stifling heat and blizzards (both in July :lol3)?
Fargo is, in my mind, a pretty dull town.

It all depends on your attitiude. I chose to move there 8 years ago. The economy is one of the strongrest in the country. 4 Colleges and first rate schools for the children. There is a short commute (45 minutes) to the lakes for good riding. Northern Minnesota has great riding, there are a few curvy roads in ND - it is mostly flat, and the wind can blow sometimes. There is great nightlife (did I mention 4 colleges?) if you want it and a strong arts community. There's even a decent community orchestra. The people here are the nicest I've met. I lived in Homer, Alaska and Duluth, Minnesota before I made the move here and wouldn't trade all the positives in my life for a scenery upgrade.

    YMMV.

Feel free to PM if you have specific questions or need boots on the ground in town.

PS - I just read the OP's profile. The Triumph shop has a Ducati Tech and they used to sell KTM. Official BMW service is 150+ miles away (Moons in MN). The other brands are well represented here. If you like guns you'll fit right in..

The mosquitos are not an issue unless you have neighbors who let things go. I sat on that 940 when he got it. Last I heard he was brewing in New Galarus. Nice guy, the train station is now a bicycle shop and doing well.

Great downtown, too. Great people...the quality of the people is what makes a place like Fargo or Grand Island a superb place to live.
