Why do you love two-strokes?

Why do you love two-strokes? My list is huge.

The smell of castor oil in the morning.

Light weight,power and handling. Ease of maintenance,cheap parts..........what's not to like?

Brought up on two strokes. First bike was a 50cc Itom in South Africa. Hooned around on that for a year, raced it with 60 other teen hooligans at Kyalami. Then found 100cc karts, Tecno Parilla was the kart to have. Later on, in Toronto, MX'd a 125/175 Yam DT, then ex-works Can-Am 125/175. RZ350 in Florida after (2nd!) divorce. Selling my 955i Speed Triple right now to buy an Aprilia RS250.
There's something about that powerband and the smoke and the relative simplicity and no excessive weight that never fails to appeal.

My answers? Weight, simplicity, powerband manipulation through the tuner's art. Learn HOW it works, and go to work. It responds to what you do immediately...... turd, rocket or grenade.

It was fun to smog tailgaters on my Suzuki GT750, especially if I had been just cruising for awhile. they would back off right quick. One moron in a 455 Buick Riv had his wipers on trying to see where he was going. I'm sure that was helpful.<G> Safety First!!!!

Powerband hit, aroma, light weight, simplicity, lack of oil changes and valve adjustments…………and the fun of stunning guys trying to wrestle a litre bike on a tight track when you duck under them on the inside on a 250 weed whacker !

This made me laugh out loud...and brought back memories of a kh400 Kawasaki triple I once loved.

I am 31. Been riding riding since I was about 18. First bike was a two stroker. Loved it till I got a 4 stroker. Broke my leg on it and got rid of it. Decided I wanted to ride again two years later. Got a 4 stroker and though, why not try a two as well.

Now I have two 2T and my 4T which hardly gets ridden. Although I love the raw power and torque of my 4, I can throw around my 2t's like they were nothing and they have a lot of umph to them... Just fun to ride. Cheap parts and cheap fun. Sucks mixing fuel though.
