New to me Triple Black 2012 GS Adventure

Any comments, positive or negative, on the Adventure Track seat??

Glad to see how much you are enjoying the new ride.

The seat is very comfortable. The only thought I've had so far is the fact the cover is suede, therefore, not slippery. This may or may not be an issue when riding off road and needing to slide across the seat for some reason. I've ridden it off road a bit but did not come across an instance where sliding was required...

Also, the back seat has the D-rings on the side, which seem like a good idea - for a cruiser seat, maybe... - but on the GSA, there are plenty of tie off points on the back so these are unnecessary.

Good to hear, thanks for the feedback. I had the same thought about the D-rings on the back, great idea, on my old V-Strom. Unnecessary on a GSA.

Baby's got some new shoes... I bought a set of Heidenau K-60 Scout tires from Adventure Designs in Hayward, CA, and had them install them...

I also bought a Kruz Locker from Adventure Designs...

Let us know if those puppies are noisy when rolling - or transmit much of a humm to the handlebars please ...... they look like a nice blend of on/off

I'd also be interested to hear how the Kruz locker is - specifically ease of use in real world situations. I used to have a throttle lock on my flr, and it was one of those things that was perfect in theoretical design, but somewhat tricky to use in the moment.

Some noise yes, but much much less than the TKC-80s they replaced...

I replaced the Kaoko throttle lock that the previous owner had installed. I never got used to how it worked. It seemed like I was always futzing with it. In the short time I've used the Kruz Locker, I'm loving how it works. The 1/4 turn on and off is so much easier to use. So far, I'm very happy with it...

I have the ThrottleMeister on my FZ-6, and its beautifully made but kind've fussy, if not dangerous to engage, hope this one works a bit better.

So far, mine works much better than the Kaoko throttle lock it replaces... I hope you find it works for you as well...

Leo Vince Headers and Leo Vince Carbon Slip-On Exhaust installed... This is much lighter than stock and I had the headers ceramic coated inside and out (similar to Jet-Hot coating)...

New headers assembled...

Today, I completed some of the miscellaneous installations I have left to complete before I depart on my adventure.

The BMW frame guards...


Left side frame guard and the SideKicker side stand, stowed...


Right side highway peg... also, this photo shows the right side fuel tank guard, previously installed...

SideKicker side stand, deployed and extended to its longest length... (it is not sitting on the ground, although it looks like it is)



Front, left side of bike, showing the Aux Light guard (previously installed), the carbon fiber alternator belt cover (previously installed), and the skid plate reinstalled after headers installation...

Sorry if I missed it somewhere in here, but whatcha think of the seat?
I've been looking at the driver solo but hate to drop the cash if it's not 'all that'

The seat works nicely, but for my weight it is a bit soft. The top layer of foam is gel based and spongy soft. Other people I've met who use the seat say they love it. They weigh much less than I do. I'm over 300 lbs. I can say it is much better than the Sargent seat it replaced.

I recommend, if you can, try one first... Some places that stock them allow test rides - try before you buy...
