I understand the bare aluminum will leave a residue if you don't use liners. The coated silver or black shouldn't do that. (my understanding, not experience.)

    I really doubt that.

Yet it is true and confirmed by those who used uncoated boxes.

Can't find any review who confirms that. I do read things about the aluminum turning black after a while. I have a special product for that at home. I use it to clean my aluminum car rims.

Seems impossible to wash out too.

    Touratech refers to aluminium rubbing

I think I am going to spray the interior of my alum bags with some type of bed liner material... anyone else try something like that?

yeah my old Jesse's would leave black on stuff. Worst is on my heated jacket liner that I am not keen on washing.

I went with TT in 38 and 45 anodized black. I hope I do not regret the width but I want to get away from using a top box.

Hmmm, there is a difference of 200 dollars between the Zega Pro and the Zega Pro 2. What's in the name... the Pro 2 is the newer version of the normal Pro. The Pro 2 is only been launched recently.

Should I take the pro 2 or the pro for that price difference?

I think the Pro2 has a quick release system.

I have the same problem. The price difference between the pro and Pro 2 can be obtained with the KTM Powerdays vouchers.

The aluminum panniers which are in the powerparts catalog are in fact Zega Pro cases. They are a bit more expensive than when you buy them with touratech but because of the vouchers they become 145 euro cheaper :)

I have to correct myself. With the current powerdays vouchers the price difference is even more. It's about 200 euro's. I just want to know if those KTM Touratech bags are KTM branded/stamped.

I would like to be able to use them on another motorcycle too. It would be stupid to drive around with KTM branded panniers on a Suzuki.

My dealer just called and let me know my bike has arrived. Should be ready to pick up end of next week! I'll send pics when I pick it up.

As said I ordered the touratech ones. My bike could be delivered now but I choose to get it delivered after "new year". As stated in another thread that means a significant tax advantage in my country.

I think you wanted to quote Deacon66 as you want to follow the delivery wave? :p
Mine is in another part of the world :)

I have a set of the wolf man bags and really like them....but, they are not lockable. I need to have lockable storage. If I were staying mostly in the back country, I would take the wolfmans, but otherwise, hardbags are a must for me.
