Looks like Catskills will be all rained out (as usual) and I'll be going elsewhere. (not really wanting to get all wet again, like almost every year)

Three of us are meeting early in the morning, Sunday 10/5 for a street ride. Looks like we will be making our way towards Rye, NH for some lobsta at Ray's. :deal

0700 at Parker's Maple Barn in Mason, NH. :evil Breakfast, leisure chatter, then kickstands up. :deal

Unfortunately, Mr. Martin, I will not be able to make it all the way to lunch, so will have to do Ray's another time. BUT, I'll see you FF's at 0700 sharp!

Anyone wants to join in, now that CJ is gone you don't have to be afraid:deal

    The idea is:

    Breakfast at Parker's

    ride
    ride
    ride
    ride
    ride

Lunch (late lunch) at Ray's in Rye.

Start with maple, and end with lobstah, with a few miles in between. Street only this time.

    I'm on a B12, Andrei is on a FJR.

    According to rays website ,
if coming from the north , head south
if coming from the south , head north
if coming from the west , head east

how can you go wrong .

After looking for dirt roads only for the past several years, I just realized that I'm no longer familiar with interesting paved roads in the area.

Take a look at the two gpx routes, and let me know if either one of them appeal to you - both take about 4 hrs from Parkers to Rays, and go the long way round (101 is no fun).

Well, the gpx is up, but gdb is not possible to upload.

The route, anyway, is just a long way around the cities, north/east/south, about 4hrs.

But we can either wing it, or decide on a route over breakfast.

This is just an option. If the route sucks, we can just wing it:

    Parker's Maple Barn
    668 Brookline Rd
    449 Depot Rd
    39 Mason Rd
    57 Greenville Rd
    524 Gibbons Hwy
    377 Gibbons Hwy
Gibbons Hwy and E Intervale Rd
    Forest Rd and Pleasant St
    527 Forest Rd
    876 Forest Rd
    Francestown Rd
    483 New Boston Rd
    149 River Rd
    677 River Rd
    371 Pattee Hill Rd
    645 Jewett Rd
    368 Hopkinton Rd
    53 Lake View Dr
    112 Hoit Rd
    254 Hwy 129
    865 Hwy 129
    172 Webster Mills Rd
    Hwy 107 and North Rd
    84 Nottingham Rd
    58 Harvey Mill Rd
    300 Portsmouth Ave
    Ray's Seafood Restaurant

Essentially, heading from Parkers to Wilton, Francestown, Dunbarton, Henniker, Contoocook, Loudon, Epsom, Nottingham, Newmarket, to Rye.

No interstate at all. There is only one very short stretch of 101, but the rest is all secondary roads.

    Should be fun.

Just got home , 340miles for the day , Henry , thanks for leading me around , nice selection .

SO , here is the big story .

This morning heading north , Henry spotted the cop on the side of the road and slowed down before he hit us with radar .( not that we were going super fast ) . Then less than 2 miles up the road we came upon a motorcycle accident that had just happened , people attending to the rider laying in the road , and others slowing traffic at both ends of the corner . Henry and I make a U turn to go back to get the cop . Henry explains the situation up the road , and the cops response was " the town line is right there , and that is in a different town, but thanks for letting me know , oh and by the way how is the guy doing ?" Henry responded I don't know , it just happened and the guy is laying in the road way .
We turn around to go back toward the scene, and about 1/2 way back , I see the cop coming up behind me , either his conscious kicked in and didn't want to be responsible if he didn't respond to another human being in need , or dispatch ordered him to go , either way , he responded to the scene . We wait a minute , and see that there are many people there tending to the rider .

We have our lunch , say our good byes , Henry heads off to run an errand , and I head off back tracking the route .
I get back to that road a few miles before the crash scene and get stuck behind 2 horse trailers going under the speed limit , I see a long straight and pass them , shortly after , I have blue lights behind me .
Cop was nice , acknowledged that the horse trailers were going slow , but pointed out that it is still not legal to pass them on a double yellow .
After we exchange papers , I give him my info , he comes back with it and a warning on memo paper ( not an official one) . He says " we already had 1 accident today " I explained the story about it .
He let me know the rider is okay , but has a few broken ribs .
I still can't figure how the guy went down, the corner wasn't much to speak about and the road surface was pretty clear .

Henry thanks again for leading today

Sean, you backtracked all the way?

I ran the errand (yes, daddy) and headed home the long way south/eastward. Along the way, my neutral light kept flickering, and finally lit up for the last 80 or so miles. But I must have been in gear because I kept moving.

I thought the morning roads were nice.

Thanks for riding with me, and bah humbug to the two others with excuses. :deal

367 miles for me, and yes, my ass is feeling it. The funny thing is, I did not feel sore after 16 hrs on the WRR:lol3

I'll need to work on the Bandit's seat.
