liverpool, it would be left hand throttle in those days.

Alright - then riddle me this... Why are they indicating a left hand turn with a left hand signal?

Thanks for the replies, but you are completely missing the point of my question. These are the motorcycle hand signals to not take the right hand off the front brake and throttle.
which were based on the original car signaling method (pre turn signals)
The question was, why did they suggest motorcyclists adopt the both-handed signalling they show in the video when A) the signals differed from the car signal standards and B) the signals took hands off controls - i.e. taking hand off throttle to show you were slowing down would actually cause you to slow much quicker?

Well...yeah. Don't you give hand signals before going around each cone when practicing gymkhana? :rofl (Why do I suddenly have the feeling I'm about to get a non-DOT approved hand signal/gesture now, LOL?)

I play that first 30 seconds at window shattering volume through the big Polks. At least twice a week.:clap

Childish I know but it's just, just.... words fail.

Welcome Atomicalex If you could hang on for a wee while, there will be the guide to starting a Moto Gymkhana riding group coming out very soon.

If you would like to email me at duncan@motogymkhan.org then I will make sure that you get a copy.

In the meantime, you will learn a lot from looking at the Welcome to the World of Moto Gymkhana videos.

+1 on that, especially with the two bikes in question. Both the cafe and the VFR are drop-dead gorgeous bikes, SS!
