mate so am I but it was shit back then. the only reason we watched it was cos we were still stoned from the night before
Love him or leave him, but Daryl's a motorcyclist from way back. He presented us with our medals for the motorcycling events at the '02 Alice Springs Masters Games and reeled off a couple of 'trailies' he's owned. I know it's only 2c worth of info, but also the Masters at Alice has the rare distinction of holding Motorcycle events, Enduro and 'Scrambles' (remember them?) for the age groups 35 plus, and that's a big plus, 'cos there were guys out there 60 plus playing in the dirt!.....
Is it a re-run of the original program (highlights?)... or a "re-hash" of the original concept... fifteen years after the "use by" date has expired...?
so it's a bit like the Aussie attempt at "TOP GEAR" is it...? Death by impersonation? Is daffy Daryl still the host... if so maybe he's up for a new "did it for the money" show segment... FLOGGING A (long since) DEAD HORSE...?
Well I'm obviously the odd man out here, well, me and Happy, but I'm enjoying every minute of it. Pissing myself larfin'. A bit like going to the Ekka, everythings just the same again... probably wouldn't want to watch it every week but I'm enjoying this one-off.
I'm with Mr Reliable and Mr Happy on this one. I loved this show when I was a little tacker - sitting cross legged on the lounge floor when I was knee high to a grasshopper. It had cartoons, Ozzie Ostrich and lots of laughs. And it was on Saturday morning and you didn't have to walk to school. And a huge 50 cent bag of mixed lollies would have you and ten of your mates sitting in the gutter outside the milkbar afterwards just about sick on the sugar overdose. I grew up in good times. And John Blackman stills makes me laugh - good stuff!
I know Im in the minority but I think its cool, bit of light humour for a change. Gone are the days when you could have a bit of a laugh that was simple an innocent and isnt full of sex, violence and slime (not that I dont like all that too ). Shit, I used to watch Benny Hill with my parents 40 years ago and the Munsters etc. All good stuff in its day. Hey hey is a bit like that to me, reminds me of a time when things were better and less complicated Australia was a better place 30 years ago, maybe too naive but better I miss the good old days. Fuggin hell, I just realised how old that makes me sound.:huh Shit, bugger, crap, bum :eek1
Ha maybe u have to be close to 50 to fully enjoy it Before all the Bull shit Yank stuff thats on TV today It original Ozy And im having a laugh :slurp
Watched about 30 minutes. Won't be watcing next week. Would wou want to ride a 1975 bike in a modern event and pretend to yourself and the world that it's the latest and greatest? That's what they are doing, they have obviously never heard of the Veterans Class.
I'm only 30ish and rather enjoyed it. The American crap that is on telly now is not watchable. Would love to see some sort of variety show return to ozzie TV's - Not Rove, that reminds me of Letterman/Leno etc.
+1 I'm a lot older than 30 but I am sick of that American crap and all of this so called Australian entertainment shows that are just copies of American crap. About time someone promoted Australian talent and made us laugh without being rude or crude. That is the most television I have watched in 5 years in a single sitting, after the ABC & SBS news I'm usually done. Except maybe motorcycle racing
Fuggin kiwi that swum across tha dutch and resides in fuggin vucturia... Whut wood ewe inderstund about Hay Hay ........??? Hey Hey (it's fuggin Wednesday!) night was pure gold in retro TV - no US shit - no Pommie shite - und no Kiwi accsunts!! Bring it on!! Hooray for some decent TV - and I aint 50 yet!
