I never plan a ride, just the destination and that's always subject to change.

I used to be all careful with my gear and helmet liners. Lightly dabbing with Egyptian cotton mildly damped with rabbit tears, etc.

I eventually said fuck it, and I now toss it all in our front loader on delicate cycle, armor in. I've not noticed any adverse issues.

I wish I could do the same with my leather gloves, as my sweat could eat through a Buick. I'm forced to toss them after they either start tearing up or smelling foul.

If anyone knows of an actually protective set gloves that can be laundered, I'll buy you a virtual beer.

Try throwing some white vinegar into the wash. My guess is that it kills the bacteria that is responsible for the smell.

If this is in response to me, I have no issues with the odor of my textile gear after washing. The issue is with my leather gloves since you can't just toss them into the washing machine.
