In the NH TOR thread, we talked about a new forum just for gossip, snide comments, announcements or just about anything to do with riding in the region that's NOT Tag-O-Rama related.

Maine already has an active Maine Riders thread, and I hope this one becomes as busy as theirs. I was originally going to start separate NH and VT threads, but there was a comment that VT might not have the population to support a state thread, and another one that some Mass. riders have an interest in what happens up north. So I'm kicking this off as a single thread, focused on Northern New England, but open to all, including Mainahs that want to cross the border!

So, bring it on. We'll leave the TOR threads to those 'elitist pricks' (of which I'm proud to be a member!) :lol3:lol3

Excellent! I liked the idea when I saw it in the NHTOR thread.

I'll thorw out the first sort of general nonsense item... I had to go to the dealer (Second Wind BMW in Merrimack, NH) today to order a spare key. I bought the bike used and didn't get the second key with it. I was in the truck, but on the way back I spotted an older F650 in a parking lot and when I stopped for Gas a few miles futher on, he pulled in a minute or so later. 2006, F650, rides year round and said that his daughter owns one too. Nice guy, we chatted for a few about tires, hard seats and weak alternators. Says he lurks here occasionally so maybe he'll decide to join up.

About 30 minutes later I spotted a guy on some kind of cruiser, it was getting dark by now so I wasn't able to see what he was riding. He caught up to me a little later and was behind me untill I turned up the hill toward my road.

Kinda made me wish I had taken the bike, but I got a later start than I had hoped and knew it would be chilly by the time I got home. It was about 24 degrees by that point and my winter gear isn't really up to that yet, soon though.

Nice to see people out and taking advantage of the nicer than normal weather we are having.

another dave from the maine thread...:D

since I have not met anyone except EC, I'll just introduce myself as
buying a 1977 BMW R100s brand new at Streets and its still going fine and gets used on tor and some Maine thread rides...bought a good and used 98 KLR in spring of 08 which allows me to keep the BMW mostly on the pavement

nice to have regional thread also been getting to know some NB riders via the internet

Whoa, that's a trip back in time. My dad was considering a job in Farmington, and the family did some house hunting in NNP and Strong. The job search went elsewhere, or I might have been a first generation Mainer. I won't say when, but Ike was President. :eek1
