I agree completely....much more well funded research is required to properly determine fuel usage of both bikes. A month in Moab might do the trick....maybe.

A one month study should provide enough time to justify a two year research grant... I am sure the NDP's would approve it!!!! Lol

I think you guys should maybe look at doing a study in the effects of high altitude on your bikes...like maybe here

    :freaky

Top of the World is a must do for any die hard Moab riders. It's a straight forward easy ride there until the last 4 miles, then the real riding begins :evil

This is what they call the Dewey Bridge. As far as I can tell, it used to be the old hwy 128 bridge over the Colorado River until it burnt. Now it's a National Monument...consisting of a bunch of dangling wires :huh
    [IMG]

This is the easy part of the last 4 miles...ya, that's the road
    [IMG]

Parking at the top is limited to this...the cliff is right where they are standing. The guy on the CRF bike stopped there took off his helmet, had a crazzed look on his face and said, "That was one rough ride"! I had to agree with him. I don't think the ATVers had it so rough but I did see two of them a quarter mile from the top...they had stopped and weren't going any further!

    But it's worth the trip...

F**cketbucket is messing you up :huh You trying the new version? I had to go back to the old version, as I couldn't even get at the links to post photos.

Oh yeah, it wouldn't have been so sad if you had just pointed that rig south instead of north :lol3

Just about done... a few more adjustments and all three bikes are tied down for the 2400KM trip home.

Thanks to Backroader JR for the use of his new Ford...great riding truck and from all accounts, just as thirsty as the other brands of pickups (when it comes to towning)

    That's better BackRoader!! Great Photos!!

I stole this from Mark96 on the Winnipeg site. It's me climbing up the start of Hell's Revenge over at Slickrock. Glad he didn't show the return back down video...you can hear me whimper as my back and front tires kicked out a bit :eek1

This is the Gooney Bird foot...to give you an idea of how steep it really is. My front wheel was getting close to vertical and was lifting of the rock as I turned to come down :eek1

Hope you enjoyed our photo trip...I know we enjoyed being there and capturing these photos. Who knows where to next...

My KLX worked out quite well. Could have used more power at times but it did the job and I had no problems with it.
Fuel range was the shortest of all the bikes.

Mine is slightly modified (will lift the wheel in second) and has an aftermarket tank. About 300 km range.

Steve, (the main guy I ride with) has an Acerbis?? tank.

I'll have to ask him what his range is.

I had the 330 kit with fmf power bomb exhaust and pumper carb in my 06. It probably made double the power of stock but still not much for the weight of the bike. Only got 220k to a tank with the acerbis.
