Which rims did KTM use on the works bikes

One of the pictures MF1A took shows Chaleco's front wheel (or what's left of it ) in all it's glory:





It's a normal Takasago Excel Rim.

Looks like KTM break and can not continue.... Looks like Honda are more crash proof and or have tougher riders.

He should have backed down to cruise to settle for a finishing position what ever that would be.... No?

Totally agree with the last sentence! This was the Dakar for Chaleco, he should be more "brain than Heart"....
