So quiet here.....I'm looking for a referral for a toyota car mechanic. College car is one of the '97 3L models, automatic with low miles. It needs a bunch of TLC and I'm not a dealership patron for a car like this.

Any of you FF's know an independent who is reliable and gets 'er done?

Gotta bottle of Ken wine for the winner....or a sixer of PBR if that's your flavor....:1drink

Knolls will likely be thawed out by this weekend if anyone wants to go sand surf!

Try Bob Kasabuchi at Kasabuchi Motors, saved me big bucks several times. As honest as the day is long as they say. Works mainly on imports. 801-266-5685

    Hi,
I just bought a Triumph Scrambler and thought I'd introduce myself, even though from reading though this thread it seems you ran the last Scrambler owner out of state! :rofl

I haven't been riding too long, picked up a vulcan 900 in August, but got the bug to do some more dirt road exploring as soon as winter set in....

Besides the BMW dealer, are there any recommendations for good shops that carry cold weather riding gear, more specifically decent overpants? I took the new ride out yesterday with jeans and good thermals but only made it about 10 miles before succumbing to frozen knee syndrome.

    Thanks
    Dave K

The gang was pretty tough on SkiFast....welcome to the asylum.

If you have downhill ski gear, you'll find that those pants are pretty close to what you're asking for. Otherwise, good recommendations from the cowboy...

Bob was out on a test drive, still calling 'yota mechanics.....

I made some leg fairings out of conveyor belt material that I remove when warm (right behind the PIAA lights). I have extra material if you want any. This pic isn't too great to show them off, but it makes all the difference. I wear cold weather riding pants with them.

Keep trying, Bob will fix you up. He's worked on both my 4 Runners over the last 19 years as well as my sons Camry and a couple of Hondas in the past. He's also a bike rider years ago until he decided he was too crazy to ride in the street.

Totally green with envy... Was down in St. George the monday before your ride and spent a little time with Jason looking over the 1190 and the mods/accessories he was prepping for this ride. Was totally wishing I was going. Nice to see a ride report to see how things ended up.
