    2013 Dinosaur Run.

    What is the Dinosaur Run?

It is a multi-day, big-bike-friendly, ego-free, self-sufficient-camping, run across northwest Colorado (including some Utah and maybe a little Wyoming) :ricky

We touch as little pavement as possible (i.e. not streetbike friendly) and we really end up in the middle of nowhere (so you need a reliable bike that is well prepared and maintained). You could ride a dirtbike but your arse will hurt. A KLR or a GS or a 950 Adventure is perfectly suited (which is what I designed The Run for :D )

I am IN, I recoginize that MouseStach any where and I think the Dakar Dude is holding the Spine to my pet Elk, so
I gots a score to settle. BTW, remember the lost Dude on the Kawasaki in the middle of the night at the BV campsite, Yes,
that is yours truly. Looking forward to it, i'll see if Starbucks has 2.0 gallon bladders so I can bring enough Dino juice. KYSHO

    What does self-sufficient mean?

If you get a flat.. you should be able to fix it...

If you blow a radiator hose... you should be able to fix it...

..and if you drop your bike, you should (:hide) be able to pick it up on your own...

    :rofl

...oh that reminds me... I need to order a spare fuel pump for my yearly Yamapa Bench swap out :patch

Hey, I'm bringing all the petro/ people friendly high octane too. Do I have to carry tools and an air compressor also?
If the answer is "yes" then I suppose I will throw in some bacon and a skillet. As you know the KLR is do anything "SLOWLY"
    overloaded two wheeled tractor. KYSHO.

Warning: overloaded KLRs have a bit of a history on this ride :eek1
...the good news was it only took a half mile hike through a sandwash and a few hours with two sheriff 4x4s too get him out to somewhere the ambulance could reach.

OK, somebody else bring the Skillet and the lighter, cause I'm not allowed to have one, Being all volatile and all.
Best thing about me is I've been known to abandon shit mid-stream so it shouldn't be a problem and I have a really
fat credit card and a healthy insurance plan just for such occasions so it should not be a problem. I don't foresee a problem here. KYSHO...:thumb:pynd:ricky Oh,I should put out there that I will probably be the old guy (+50) in
the group, I will more than likely be behind, picking up garage sale stuff that falls off but I'll be sure to follow.

I learned my lesson after only 1 day last year (and I didn't even get into Dino!)... only the basics this time:

    Tent
    Sleeping bag
    Tubes
    Min. tools
    Cold food
    5 Hour Energy
    Water
    Booze!

Dude, you're forgetting the most important thing. A fishing pole.:D and if you had too, you could skip the tent and the booze
    to make room.
