No that was Redbud who runs into people. I was trying to get my bike to move (by hand). At a loaded weight of about 700 pounds, it was being recalcitrant, at which point my knuckles dropped to the ground and my brow protruded. I gave a mighty pull and there was a massive POP in my right arm. What followed was a ride to the ER in Steamboat, a visit to the Ortho surgeon, and an MRI. Partially torn biceps tendon. Six weeks of physical therapy then we see if I have to have surgery.

no, but there is/was a very good Mexican place right next to the Best Western on the main (old) drag.

Let me know if there is still a mile long oil streak on Push Mountain Rd (343 IIRC) starting about 3 or 4 miles off of Hwy 14.

are you back to riding? i thought i saw a dude in a yellow helmet on a triumph the other day with a couple of baseball bats sticking out of his backpack.

Going to be in Memphis for a conference 10/14-20, then heading out to Shiloh NP and points south. Any advice for restaurants, evening entertainment, and day trips welcome. No KLR this time, hoofing it on the KLT

Also any advice on a good place to overnight in the Birmingham or Montgomery area is appreciated

where will you be staying in Memphis?

in Birmingham, there's a cool area called Five Points that has some nice restaurants and bars. a good place to walk around.

On Thursdays we usually get together somewhere for a RTE. You're invited. Keep an eye on this thread to find out where. If you know where you're staying we can plan to meet in that area.

If you have flexibility to your schedule on the front side, the Vintage Bike Festival is Oct 12-14 @ Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham. Looks awesome, I've never been.

In Memphis, if you're on an expense account, there's some excellent top scale restaurants on Beale and Main St. Itta Beena is above BBKings on Beale--fantastic fare. Or just eat at the bar on the main floor. Bike night may still be rolling if the weather holds on Wed night on Beale.

Hope some of you were able to make it out riding today. Riding weather was perfect for ATGATT.Love the Sidi Adventure Rains. The Klim liner was comfortable and warm. Glad I donned it prior to departure.
