What did you find? Any good stuff out there?

Sorry you won't make it but friends/family are important.

Terrific. You'll have a good time and get to meet a lot of good folks.

Super, not many people like getting up and moving that early in the day. :clap We'll show up at the gas station in Asotin and just follow Sorebutt from there.

Sturgis? :lol3 It's a long way from that and the crowd is much more mellow. Hope you can make it.

    LB,
I'm off the cool kids list and back on the fence. My riding buddy is trying his heart out to talk me into a Seattle to Banff trip that same week. I'm collecting slivers for now.

The mud holes are drying up a couple weeks early this year, and the snow is receding fast. The roads need some grooming.

We did 5 mile hike to the east on a trail that would be good for smaller bikes. There are miles of 2 track and qwad tracks to the west (future ORV area). We also saw millions of wildflowers and harvested some Morels:norton

I may go back alone in a couple of weeks to do more exploring with the bike.

We'll gladly take two of the vacated spots (sorry to those who can't make it). Just booked a campsite so looks like we're coming.

Ladybug please sign us up for all meals (except that vege one). Really looking forward to this and meeting some of you and checking out the area. :clap

    Ladybug,

I declare that I am now ready to jump off the fence.....I am in and have not made reservations at the RV resort. Do I need to or do we have open reservation spots there?

Oh and BTW.... I am a Brent too.

OK you're on the splinter fence. If you go to Banff have a terrific time.

Wonderful, you're now on the IN list with the fun kids and I have both of you down for meals.

On the IN list you go. If you are tent camping there is no need to make reservations. If you need an RV site give the park a call. We'll look for the newbie on the pretty bike

The three of you are now on the IN list too.

I'm looking forward to meeting all the new people t this gathering.

Anyone else wanting the in camp meals?

I attended with Gabriel two years ago in the green and yellow VStrom sidecar rig. We're coming again but bringing his brother this time too. Sorry we missed last year. We had a great time in 2011!

Ok, my planning is taking a twist. I will have a second rider "IN" whom we will call "Slinky", (non ADVRider susbscriber.) (My son from Spokane Valley.) I'll truck the KLRs over to Spokane Valley and we will start from there.

Our trip starts from Spokane 14th or 15th so I am plotting a general route over to St Maries and on up the St Joe. If open (input appreciated), we will head south and come out on US12 at Syringa. From there to Lowell and down the Selway to Elk City. From Elk City, much dirt to the Salmon East of Riggins and more dirt down to McCall. From McCall over to the Canyon down the Kleinschmidt (?) grade cross at Oxbow and over up Hess Rd and on over to Enterprise by the 17th or 18th.

Ad hoc exploring may be incluced at a leasure pace, stopping and fishing will be involved along 2-track roads or better.

Return trip??? Probably more direct. Gotta be back in Spokane Valley Sometime Sunday, June 23rd.

    Google routes:

Spokane Valley to St Maries 56 miles
St Maries to Elk City 200 miles to US12, 260 total
Elk City to McCall 160 miles
    McCall to Enterprise 136 miles

Possible closures, local iconic stops along the route, any other comments kindly solicited!

Anybody every run that Powerline road just off of the Road to Dug Bar. Looks like right before you cross the Imnaha for the last time there is a big loop. Might be a fun alternative on the Dug Bar ride since it's an out and back.

I also see something on google maps, called "The Shack" (With a little Bed Icon), right before you drop down into Dug Bar. Anybody know what that is? Might have to do some xploring while down in there.
