Anyone mount a GPS on their 1190 with the Touratech mount?

So I installed a Garmin 665 on a Touratech mount on my 1190R. It has minor vibration and bouncing while ridding on asphalt. Yesterday I went off-road on a fairly rocky atv track. The GPS was bouncing so bad that I was worried it might pull the screws that hold the instrument cluster to the front fairing, out of the plastic anchors. I have decided that I need to install some type of anchor back to the dash, or it could get ugly if things break out on the trail. I am planning to ride the UT BDR in a couple of weeks, I'm trying to be practical and exercise an ounce of prevention, before I end up a more serious problem somewhere that isn't very convenient.

Basically I'm wondering if someone has already crossed this bridge, and designed a fix for this problem?

I have the KTM mount and was going to change it out for the Touratech one for the same reason.
I ended up just mounting the GPS to the handlebar via a Ram mount.
I guess that is how it will stay.

I realise the GPS is in a Touratech bracket or similar but where did you get the mount to the bar clamp?

Yea I have one as well. I am looking to re-engineer it - it appears the Zumo 665 seems to be to heavy for it. Looks Like the cross bar needs to be lowered and the open gusset needs to filled in to get rid of some of the flex.

Need serious help on mounting garmin zumo 550 on new ktm1190 adv r , i am leaning to a fitting on handlebar clamps.
If any ideas, you could pm me, anything.

Also considering this one, however... it uses the same mounting points as the KTM Power Parts one, and with trail and error I have found that most of the wobble of the KTM mount is from the support bracket that bolts to the rubber mounted dash screw. So even though the SW Motech one looks simpler/shorter and less leverage, I think it may still wobble around?

After lots of searching I "think" that the swmotech is the more solid mount, and based on the report I ordered it, received it two days ago so still no install but sure it looks good.
But I also ordered a ram ball just in case...

I am going to return the KTM mount and I have ordered a SW Motech mount as well.
IF that doesn't work I am back to mounting on the handlebar instead.

I've got the touratech mount and have the same problem. It's ridiculous how much it bounces around.

I'm thinking of trying to remove those rubber grommets between the speedo assembly and the bolts, it doesn't really show those being used in the instructions. They're pretty soft and probably make things worse

Anyone tried to fabricate bars from the Touratech item that attaches where the PP mount is attached behind the instrument cluster?

Doesn't make any difference if you remove the grommets, don't bother.

I bent a piece of aluminum and attached to one side of the TT mount using the same pinch bolt attachment point the KTM mount uses. Drastically reduces the vibration. I was going to attach on both sides but found that I only needed the one so far. Prior to that, my gps was bouncing so much it was gouging out a spot on my windscreen. Been a super solid mount since.

Thanks - what I wanted to know. Touratech representative in Scandinavia said they had several requests for a mod and he would convey this and perhaps have a solution made. I think I'll just do what you did.

I posted in another thread a while ago about a small tin plate bracket i fixed to the PP mount which stopped the vibration almost completely.
I have a Tom Tom rider v5 and this is a very heavy unit.
I don't know how to link the pictures to this thread though.
If someone knows how maybe drag it to here it might help somebody.
