700gs Gas tank replaced

    I just had the gas tank replaced on my 2013 700gs. The plastic side panels were separating after two years and 5700 miles. Anyone else run into this? Be safe out there!

    Take it to the Parallel Universe where you'll find hundreds more cracked.

    Sucks but there's no leakage potential.

    Looked at used F650 twin for my wife. Cracked tank and leaky valve gasket. Out of warranty and BMW won't fix their crap. Bike sat from estate issues. no thanks

    So what? The tank will never leak and next valve check, get a new gasket. As long as it's a good deal. An old shirt will take care of a little leak. It's not going to blow. My 2008's been leaking since day 1. One day I'll worry about it.

    Looks like shit. known manufacturing defect and already been through that BS. I was even going to fix the leak myself since valve service was due anyway. Dealer wouldn't give me any parts for that either, another known manufacturing defect.
