Sorry for the long title....plus I'm new here(been lurking though).Hello everyoneI'm going this weekend June 11-12th, I'm wondering what to expect at this event. AHRMA is the sponsor? I've never went to Elkart Lake/Road America before and all my web searches do is bring up technical event issues. Will I see alot of vintage cool bikes and races? Im packing up my Sportster with the girlfriend and making a ride out of it. 90mi one way through beautiful Kettle Moraine State forest from Milwaukee. Should be fun...I hope
The event has gotten bigger and better since Motorcycle Classics magazine came on last year to make it in to more of an event. I was surprised how many great bikes showed up last year despite the crummy weather. I expect it to be even bigger this year. I will be there on sunday with my 350f. Have fun!
Sounds like everyones givin' the thumbs up . I'll post some pics as soon as I get back. Thanks......that's a lame thumbs smiley
Soungs good hoodelly, Let me ask you sumthin off topic- do you patronize Team Winnebagoland? (in Oshkosh)They got a klx250sf Kawi I'm looking at buying. Trustworthy Dealership in your opinion?
Sorry, can't help you since I've never been there. All I have is my honda so there's been no need. Although, I was going to stop there once to look at riding gear.
R/A is one of the greatest race tracks in the country. The country side is beautiful , the food is great and the people know how to have a good time. If you can manage it , stay at or at least visit Siebkins resort. We stayed there several times back in the day when we were racing AMA and club events from our base in MI. I can smell the brat's on the grill !!!!
Nine Pics! I got one of the same same sidecar race...but mine aren't as nice. Gonna try to post them anyway. btw I had an awesome time. Cool bikes and great people!
I am ABSOLUTELY going next year. Im going to camp on the grounds next time to take in even more activities. I can't believe what I saw, cafe' racers realy racing! I also loved the freedom given to spectators. You can go anywhere you want! Glad I rode there too, ya almost gotta have a bike to get around while on the grounds. People liked my bike too!
