I love this thread over in the orange crush section... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=568535 I was kinda hoping we could start something like this over here! SO! What broke? What did you mod? What farkle did you buy? New tires? New adventure? As always pictures are ALWAYS appreciated! I'll start! night started like this: something fell off: add this: remove this: 2am get this!
One has to wonder when your trust fund will be depleted Looking good, why go supermotard? My evil twin is on advrider while the good one should be studying medicine....
Nothing today but catch drywall dust. I've been sprucing up it's quarters. I did however add a new steering damper a couple weeks ago and need to fabricate new bar risers since the Wunderlich ones won't work with the GPR damper. I have some aluminum ordered to fabricate them on my new mill.
the trust fund is bone dry!!!! paycheck comes Friday though! as for the supermotard... I commute most everyday on the bike and I am sick and tired of putting on a nice knobby tires and have them for one good weekend and then next time I go out and play around off road they're worn out from my commute.... that's the REASONABLE answer... truth.... Shits and giggles...
That baby looks sweet. Lately, I also have been running my 19 / 17 wheels with the Distancias on them. The F8 can be a lot of fun on pavement as well. Nicely done. Here's my SM setup.
Here's my SM setup.
I'm sorry if I'm hijacking this thread a little, but how about those brake rotors? Are they the Twalcom ones? This was your solution for all that f*&*ïng noise from the stock brakes? How do the new ones work? I know, lots of questions... But, to keep up with this thread: foto (3) por Arjones rider, no Flickr Not really today... Hummm, I'm gonna wash the bike and post some pictures ok?

How do the new ones work?
The rotors are Galfers. I had Woody make me a second set of wheels so I use the 19 front (with Galfers) and 17 rear (with stock rotor) for street; and my 21 front (with stock rotor) and 18 rear (with Galfer) for the dirt. Like Motorfiets I got tired of smoking through knobbies when I wasnt riding dirt. I never really had significant problems with the stock rotors, but the twin Galfers on the 19 are indeed sweet and they work extremely well. I like the road setup enough that for the first time I'm thinking about trips that dont involve dirt. This of coarse might be a bad thing, because we all know that if you only ride pavement on your GS then you have to give up your man card.

I wish some of the "hardcore" riders I know could read this. And we don't even have a Starbucks here in my hometown... Anyways, I'll have my stock front rotors replaced by new ones under warranty. Thing is they are "more loose" than they should. Even the BMW guy agreed. Let's wait to see the results. And thanks again. That "man's card" shit was really funny. Cheers.
Still waiting to get mine back from the shop >=[ those damn Bavarians are taking their sweet a** time to send parts. Why can't they just steal them off one of the bikes on the production line? Anyway currently this is what mine looks like.
It doesn't look like a lot but today I finally finished the rear luggage rack and it worked out great because I got my 1.75 gal rotopax too. Keep in mind that the luggage rack is a custom piece made of carbon fiber. I also drank a six pack of Coors in the process while blasting 80s hair metal!
Awesome, nice work. Do you happen to have the hole pattern dimension on hand? I got a rack from a KTM, that I have to re-drill for my f800gs.
