Renazco Racing seat

I finally had a nice day that I could try out my F800 seat that Renazco Racing did for me and after an hour of riding, I had no monkey butt and I could walk normally. Before I could only stand about 30 mins of riding and then I felt like I had been riding a horse all day long.

Their workmanship is fantastic and I highly recommend them.

Well they are pretty interesting...

They only get better the more they get broken in too! I have been doing 250-400 miles a weekend for the past couple of weeks and it is getting better (plus my ass is breaking in too).

Like everyone else has said, the seat is fantastic.

I had 2" added up front to get rid of the F%^&^%@#@#&^%%%@^&@#% slope !!!

I'm also looking to fix this problem. I just filled out their form yesterday and submitted it.

I'm assuming you added 2" the std height seat. If you don't mind me asking, what's you inseam measurement? Mine was 33 1/2 with my boots on and was thinking the 2" taller seems about right for what I'm looking for.

34" for me, flat foot is no problem.

I've had this on my bike for a while. It is an essential upgrade to the stock seat IMO. As pointed out, I also had the front scoop of the stock seat eliminated. I had mine made similar to the dirt bike seats I have had made by Renazco with a narrower front for more control and a wider back for cruising. The only thing I have done in all my subsequent Renazco seats is to do the whole thing in suede. The suede is fantastic for off road riding in terms of comfort and the right amount of grip.

So I think I'll go with 2" extra height.

I was thinking full suede too, how is sude to clean and maintain?

Looks like they are booking for June at this point. It sounds like the wait will be worth it though.

Suede got too hard for me, but I am in the desert, where everything dries up.

I didn't get the suede, but I had to wait 4 months when I ordered mine and it was definitely worth it.

I sprayed mine with some leather water proofing treatment after talking with Dan at Renazco. I dont sweat it if it rains on the seat, but I do pull it off the bike when I wash it. My full suede seats on my enduro bikes take a lot more abuse and I just wipe them down when I clean the bike. The vinyl sides on my F800 seat are definitely easier to clean I just like the feel and the amount of grip the suede offers. Call the guys at Renazco and they can give you more insite on the various fabric options. Yes the wait is long but it is well worth it.

Seats are very subjective. I bought a custom-built seat from Renazco for my F800GS. When it arrived, I used it while riding a half-day in the Micheux State Forest and on paved roads. I listed it for sale on the ADVRider flea market within 24 hours. It was no more comfortable than the BMW standard seat. I submit the expensive Renazco is best suited for the riding and bikes on which Renazco built their reputation, rather than heavy dual-sports.

But then, after all, seats are very subjective!

I fully support your experience in that when I first put the seat on I was not amazed! It was better than the stock seat and even the bmw rally seat but I was still not overly impressed. Then I put some miles on it, it definitely had a break in period and I have hit a point where it is great. The biggest issue I was having is that my ischial tuberosities (major contact point for moto seats) were taking a beating on the other seats and I never had that occur with the renazco seat. This is usually the pain people talk about. But everyone has a different shape to their posterior so it is not a magic cure all for the bike. I am in the process of making an add on to this great seat for serious mileage. Essentially it will be a strap secured seat enhancer that will make the seat platform larger and eliminate the small depression, it will be able to come off easily etc... When I get a good product put together I will post pictures.

If anyone can do this... it is you.... My butt, and body for that matter, dont like the memory foam in there..... But James is the first one to say that all butts are not the same, and he is trying to generalize, for all butt's out there. I think that eventually I will replace the memory foam in there with regular foam. Looking forward to see what you come up with.

This won't be a solo endeavor, I am talking to James about it because I do not have the expertise in this department.

This is the concept, it would be a direct cinch and clip that would hug the other seat, increasing the seat width and height.
